Back on Lexapro

I started taking 10mg of Lexapro a day starting today.  I just couldn't take it anymore.  It was going beyond the panic attacks.  It was anxiety and even depression.  One of the things that triggers this is "waiting."  I would get anxious waiting at a red light, waiting in traffic, even sitting watching tv at night and looking at the clock and it is 10pm and I am "waiitng" to go to bed at 11pm.  This triggered a bad panic attack the other night waiting in church.  Evenings now seem to be worse.  I was fine at church on Saturday for 4 hrs for David's Confirmation!  Although the one difference is I was not alone.  Paul's sister was sitting next to me and talking to me and that kept my mind focused on other things.  I almost welcome the numb, zombie feeling.  The constant anxiety and fear was just beginning to take over.  I haven't even been exercising.  It is like I couldn't do all the things that I enjoy anymore.  I haven't been reading.  I haven't even wanted to eat that much.  I haven't wanted to exercise.  I haven't even been listening to music.  I did not take a Xanax yesterday (day 1.)  I felt pretty good all day but I was working.  Last night sitting watching tv I did get anxious around 10pm.  I did take melatonin before bed and I really, really had to focus last night when I went to bed on my breathing and relaxing.  Breathing in slow and deep and holding my breath for 3 seconds, breathing out really slow and holding my breath for 3 seconds.
I know the back of my head  was really bothering me yesterday and last night and my shoulder blades and most likely just hypertension.
Working from home today.  Just got my 3rd loss for the week.  Ugh!  Thank God the rain stopped and the sun has peaked out a few times this AM.  Streets were all flooded last night and it was a little spooky driving to pick David up from karate.  I have bowling tonight (my Friday night league.)  Sunday I have a family birthday party to go to for a cousin.
Still occasionally having stomach issues, but slightly better.  At least it is not all the time.  Just taking this all one day at a time right now and praying for "normal."

You sound at the end of you rope. I hope the Lexapro works for you.
Do you have to go back to the doctor for a check up to see how you are doing on the Lexapro?

I was doing ok all morning. Ate some mac & cheese for lunch. Was a little shaky before, but then started getting really shaky. Went to go take a shower and now full blown panic attack. Dizzy, can\'t breathe, shaky, heart racing. Took Xanax 10 minutes ago and praying for relief! I just want to curl up in a ball in bed and cry!

It will take a few weeks unfortunately for the Lexapro to kick in, so use the Xanax when you need it, things will get better and if they don\'t, go back to the pdoc and get a different anti-depressant. Take it easy, I know it\'s easier said than done. Concentrate on your breathing when the panic attacks kick in, and if you need to curl up in a ball in bed and cry - it doesn\'t hurt, it helps to get it all out. Take care and look after yourself.

I hope the Lexapro build up fast for you. Take the Xanax when you need it. Don\'t let things get too bad before you take it.
