Back from PT: Owie, Owie, Owie
I'm snuggling on my couch. I went for my usual PT session already hurting. I'd had a rough night as I related in my last posting. I just want to relate my PT session here...deep breath...no pity party. It started with the usual heat pads, lumbar and neck. I took the sheet offered as it was so comforting. I had my deep tissue massage, focusing on the left side of my body. Then my therapist came in to finish the job. I knew we were doing this but never know quite what to expect. He ran his hand along my hip and lower spine, focusing on the center of my spine and the SI Joint. He dug in deep to the spine and vertebrae, telling me afterwards his approach was akin to having a trigger point injection and I would be sore for a while after it. No kidding! I cried for the first third of my pool therapy; which is usually soothing. The pain lessened as I completed the pool therapy. Praise God!! It was over...until the next time. I booked three sessions for next week. You'd think I'd know better. LOL. I'm trying here folks. I'm doing everything I'm supposed to. I'm not taking any other medications as instructed. The pain I have isn't normal, I know that but I'm no physician. I called my patient advocate to see if I can talk to a PA but the surgeon and his PA are in surgery, which was running overtime and my doc is heading out of town for surgery this weekend. I can call Monday if I'm worse or experiencing severe pain to book an appointment for Thursday. Not ideal but I'll take it if I need it. In the meantime, I'll keep on doing what I do...try to find holistic ways to manage my condition and praise God when I am pain free.

Bless your heart. You just describing what the therapist did to you, made me shiver. I couldn\'t have taken it. What was the purpose?
Rest up.
Hi Magicpill: We are trying to find the source of my pain in my hip and lower back. My fusion is fine, some nerves are still healing so the pain may have multiple sources. Also the muscles in my back were moved, not cut during the fusion so they are working them to put them back into the proper place in my side. Today\'s joy was to dig in my SI Joint to see if the trigger point pressure helps like an injection would. If I can walk tomorrow it will be amazing. I\'m starting to drag my leg a little now. Not cool! Thanks for asking. Glad you\'re reading my entries.
