Back again

Here I am again.  Back home.

What a wonderful 2 weeks we had loving and cuddling Arabella and Sierra.  It was really hard to come home.  I do have to admit that I am amazed at how laid back Cevyn and Brendan are.  The girls are very mobile now and it took both Joe and I to keep track of them!  I had a sore back - they weigh 20 pounds and are wiggly worms.

I am glad I am not a young mom now.  You need a degree in engineering to work the car seats and the buggy!  Brendan moved the car seats to our rental van.  He gave Joe a crash course in buckling them in.  I managed to get Arabella in but Joe could not get Sierra buckled in.  The one thing Brendan missed was how to adjust the tightness of the straps.  Cevyn finally came and we were off.

The party was wonderful - at least 30 relatives and friends helped celebrate!  The girls were handed over from one person to another and were happy as clams!  The photos are on FB.

I had weepy times as it hurt so much that Lisa wasn't with us spoiling babies.  I know she was there, but it was not the same.  Dammit.

The party was at Harvey and Beth's.  As I sat back and watched Beth's family and Brendan's family (Harvey's family in in Alberta), I was blown away by the love those little girls enjoy.  Harvey and Beth and I did not get along to well for awhile but I was thankful to see how much they love the girls.  The anger and hurt are pretty much gone.  I just hope that they help the babies get to know Lisa.  We also spent our last evening visiting them.  We had a good time and a lovely dinner, cooked by Harvey - he is an awesome cook.

As if coming home wasn't depressing enough.  The first call I made was to Andrew to let him know we were home.  When I asked about Tiina's parents (her mom just finished chemo), I was told that her dad was in the hospital! He had a colonoscopy and had a huge bleed following.  He ended up having another another scope yesterday, and was given 2 pints of blood.  They managed to correct the problem and he is doing well.  If the bleeding is well and truly stopped, he will be home today.

Joe said I need to get involved in something - I get depressed if I am not busy and housework doesn't cut it.  I was happy to get an invitation to do resident satisfaction surveys for the continuing care organization in the new year.  With volunteering at the community association, I should have enough to do without resorting to housework!

Wishing all my SOTH love and peace.

Lisa:  I know you are with me.  I heard you as we left your Christmas present on your stone.  Your grandbabies are phenomenal.  I miss you always and love you forever, Mummy

LOVED all the pictures I've seen on FB...thanks for sharing! Those baby girls are just precious and oh so cute!!

Glad to hear things went well and you had such a great visit. And yes, I'd imagine leaving was hard.

Sounds like you've already got plans, so your down time will be minimal, and I know that's the way you like it. And how wonderful that you volunteer for such worthy causes and help so many. You're one special lady!!

Welcome home dear Marlene. Your heart feels full and I have no doubt Joe took a lot of wonderful pictures. What fantastic parents Cevyn and Brendan are and I'm with you that you have to be "young" to try to work all these gadgets now for babies and toddlers.

Your volunteer work feels just right and I'm with you on that one. Housework can only go so far and when you're relational communing with the kitchen and bathrooms just does not cut it! lol

Take care as you settle back in and hope that Tina's mom and dad continue to heal. Medical issues can be so very challenging.

Heartfelt (((hugs))) and again, Welcome Home!

Marlene, what a wonderful visit and so great to know Lisa ' s grand babies are surrounded by so much love. As you said, may Cevyn, Harvey and Beth keep Lisa ' s memory and legacy front and center for these precious little girls.

I'm with you...once I retired I began to volunteer immediately. I don't want to be home and think too much. I need a balance of being busy yet taking time to connect with Ed spiritually. But too much time isn't good for me - the depression kicks in.

I'm sorry to hear Tiina's Dad had such a rough time. May he recover fully.

Love to you and dearest Lisa, Linda

The girls are just so cut. I remember the handful. But the love twice fold. I do hope you find something that you love, housework is at the bottom of the list. I do not know what I will do when I retire but find part time job or something. I can only stay home for so long, I will need shopping money LOL.

Sad to hear about other family members being ill. My Aunts are getting up there in age, I just lost aunt Carol now only June and Bobby still around from my Moms side. Just a couple of uncles from my dads side. I never see them because they live in Ohio we don't travel Mike is not good at that.

Hope you find what you need....
Love Penny
