Baby steps!
I was able to walk 2 miles again this evening. I pushed myself quit hard despite an aggravating pain in my right hip. I even ran for most of the distance by alternating walking and running. I didn't decide to go until it started to get dark having procrastinated all day long. I knew I would get sore and I wasn't looking forward to it. But I knew I would be stronger if I tolerated the pain and pushed myself. It's alot like when I quit drinking and drugging! I knew I would have withdrawals and the shakes and I knew there would be pain involved in quitting. But I listened to those that have quit before me. My AA and NA friends who gave me a mountain of support by telling me on a daily basis to hang in there. As time goes by it will get easier and I will be better for having endured the pain! They were right 100 percent. I put my faith and trust in those who quit before me and they guided me to a more enjoyable future free from drugs and alcohol! Its so easy to laze around and do nothing but that does nothing for my health. It doesn't improve my blood pressure. It was so easy to take a drink or a drug to feel good rather then get some aerobic excersize to feel good. I use to run 6 miles a day before I got into drugs and alcohol. then I got lazy, and lost it all. Now I have to take baby steps again to get those muscles back, just like I had to take baby steps when I quit drinking and drugging. One step at a time. One day at a time! Thankyou for ready this!
