Awake now!

Got an early wake up call this morning! One of my brothers called me at 7:30am to ask if anyone called me about our parents! And after I wait a minute for the other shoe to drop he finally tells me they were robbed in their home at gun point last night! And I had to ask if they were alright before he tells me they were! Sorry to say I dont talk to my parents anymore but I never wish bad on them! And after I hang up the phone and lay my head back down I realize I'm not going to fall back to sleep!  My mind starts thinking if I was them at their age I'd want to baracade the house then plan on moving in a better neighborhood! Fifty years ago it was a great area to live and raise your kids but for the last 30 to 40 it started to go down hill with cheap apartments built a few blocks away! We could play games in the street there! And everyone knew everyone and their kids! The smart ones moved years ago! All I can do is pray for their safety! Have a safe, happy and painless day!  :)

Sorry to hear what happened to your parents and am very glad that the incident did not end their lives, but also sad to report that in this day and time \'nothing\' surprises me any more when it comes to our society. Yes, things did \"seem\" to be much better back in the day, but as the saying goes \"different times called for different measures\". Please feel free to delete my posts if they make you feel ill at ease, but I think that \'crime\' exists \'everywhere\' today (and whether or not we believe it, there\'s NO getting away from it), it\'s just the fact that there are various forms of it (some more \'drastic\' than others unfortunately) that are never mentioned in the media.
With your permission, I\'d like to pray for you and your parents (No, not all people get along with their parents, and depending on the relationship some don\'t care if they ever will, but I still like to pray for them anyway.), that if it\'s at all possible your \'relationship\' will evolve into one where there will at least be some respect and caring for one another, because usually once they\'re (our family, friends, neighbors, etc.) gone from our lives, there\'s most definitely NO coming back.
So, I deeply apologize for this extremely long letter, and with your say so will continually include the three of you (and all the others here) in my prayers for your reconciliation, or mutual respect for one another. Take care and God bless.
