Autumn is here
We had our first frost of the season lately. Well the great weather couldn't last forever. (Darn it). It's windy too. I tried a little walk around the subdivision but had to break it off early. The cold air and the wind made my chest hurt so I didn't push things. I went to wallyworld after a rest to get my walking in. It was sooo much easier there. I guess I'll have to wait for spring for my outdoor saunters.
Another thing about cold weather that I had forgotten, it makes my riibs much more sore. (Ouch) They have been pretty much sore since I have been dealing with asthma but today I noticed it much more. I should remember that that was the reason I got my disabled placard to begin with. I don't do well in hot, cold or windy weather. I guess I have been feeling invulnerable during the stretch of lovely weather.
Otherwise I'm doing pretty well.
On a more humorous note, last Saturday my wife and I went to see Kathleen Turner in a play at the Rep called "High". Before the play begins, the management routinely plays an announcement to turn off cell phones. Of course the play begins and Kathleen Turner is setting the stage with her first lines when my wife's phone rings. Let me tell you that there is nothing louder than a ringing cell phone in a quiet theater. Kathleen stopped and looked at us as was the rest of the theater.
My wife became flustered and coulndn't find her phone in the suitcase she calls a purse. Meantime the phone just kept ringing. I reached in and was able to turn the offending object off. Once that was done , Kathleen picked up where she left off and the rest of the play was uneventful. I was never so relieved as when Kathleen turned away. Let me tell you that she has some piercing eyes. Like little lasers.
I asked Julie why she hadn't turned off her phone. She said she didn't think she would get a call. I'll bet she turns her phone off from now on.
Other than that bit of excitement, everything else is going well.
