August 19, 2010 Vacation week

Hey everyone,  I am enjoying my "veranda beach" week off.  For those of you who do not know what veranda beach is it means "vacationing at home on your porch"  LOL!!!  Now when you go off on vacation from your jobs, you will know what to say to people if your staying home on vacation.  They might sound impressed.   I really haven't been doing too much this week.  Putting around the apartment, visiting people, going to my county fair last night.  The fair was a lot of fun.  My friend Deb and I  went, ate a lot, spent a lot.  If you ever go to your county or state fair, try the "taco in a bag".  Its really good.  What they do is get a small bag of doritos, crush up the doritos, throw all the taco fixings and whatever you want in it (sour cream, onion), hot or mild sauce.  Its really portable and really good.  Not too much or not too little too.  It definitely left me satisfied.  I would have never known about it until my sister posted it on facebook and said to try it.   Definitely one of those things that you can eat while walking and you don't have to make a mess  either.   It is one of those things I will have to eat there every year now (or everytime I go).   I also bought a nice candle, which I am burning now.  Its a soy candle.  I am kind of a sucker to those vending places there.   A few years ago it was a mop.  LOL!!!  Today is another one of those whatever days.  I went to the mall to get some Vit D (I like Vitamin world) and got some bath and body works wallflower scent things you plug in and it makes the room/apt smell nice.  I got cinnamon stick, thats my favorite.  I probably won't plug them in until October.   We also went to see the "four tops" motown singers at the free concert at the fair.  They were excellent.  If you ever see them up, I urge you to go.  Very entertaining.
Kevin's friend came into town this week for one of their mutual friends this weekend.   Nice kid.  His name is Keith, lives in NC, engineer, great looking.   What am I waiting for?  for one,  I'd be robbing the cradle and look like a cougar.  LOL!!  This kid is only 29 years old.  Besides, I think my family would just about kill me if I walked around with someone like him.   We were talking about reunions and such and he just had his 10th a few months ago.  So...it looks like my friendly, sweet landlord is only 29 years old.  I made him out to be around 35.  God!  I hope he will forgive me.  LOL!!!  It was nice having him around during the daytime while I was here.   My landlord sure has some really smoking hot friends who he plays volleyball with.   He is getting ready to go to vietnam for 2 weeks in October.  Apparently he has been trying to learn the language.  That has to be extremely funny to learn.
Anyways. tomorrow concludes my week off.  I will be going to the Buffalo Bisons game at 7:35pm.  They are a "AA" league.   It should be an interesting game.  Hope they win.  My friend Deb, Linda and Michelle are going.   Should be a fun time.
No!  I am not into the bar scene.   None of my friends I hang out with now are into it.  The only friend thats into the bar scene is Alysia from high school.  thats because she got married at 18 and never had a life outside her marraige (she is divoraced).  Plus she had kids so early and now 1 is in college and the other is a junior in high school.  She is having her fun now.  I say "good for her".   I get a lot of people telling me that they see her drunk at some bar.  Whatever.  She is living it up now, doing the things that we all did in our 20's.   Its not my thing anymore.  I find myself home on friday and saturday nights.
Catch everyone later.....  XXOO
