Well, it's nice to have more options in here. I need this bigger size for my own comfort.
So, here it is mid-August already. Where did the time go? I spent the summer trying to keep up with the grass mowing and tomato pruning. The tomatoes got away from me. Some have 2 or 3 stems instead of only one. But there will be a decent crop this year. Blight took last years fruit.
I got tired of sweating so much. I finally got the nerve to have a couple inches trimmed from my hair. It no longer looks like a wild bush. I think the curl is going to return, too. I had worried it might not. Of course, my hair was only 5 or 6 inches long. Sister has hair much longer than that. It's been 5 years since she had cancer and lost her hair. It grew back curly. She feared it would lose curl if she had it cut. Well, the curl is gone, pulled away by the weight of the hair itself. She is thinking about having her hair cut, now, too.
We have 8 cats again. We were down to 7 after Simon died in April. I miss him. Sister brought home a cat, in June, that had wandered into her job site. A trip to the vet was needed to let us know the cat was already neutered, about 2 or 3 years old. He has a long coat. She named him Kirby--he cleans out all the food bowls. Dang thing is a biter. After the 2nd time he bit me, I told it to stay away from me, I'm not petting you ever again. He even tried to bite another cat on the back. Well, one of the cats gave him a good thumping earlier this week. He now sports a nice scratch on his nose. Oddly enough, he has calmed down since that thumping. He even shares my bed with me. I feared he'd go after my feet like two others do. I talk to him and even had to pick him up to move him to his end of the bed one night. But I don't trust him, yet.
I have to wonder if I will ever get the strength to hold down a job again. My left foot hurts, both knees bother me-the right one hurts most of the time. I get short of breath after simply climbing from cellar to bedrooms. (3 flights of stairs) When I stand up from having bent over to do something, I sometimes get a bit dizzy. I almost lost my balance and fell over backawrd in the tomato patch last week. Add to that my right knee locks up on me when I bend over. My left hand was weak after that broken wrist last year. Now it is weird that the right hand has taken on the very same feelings of weakness. I can not make a closed fist now. I can with the left hand. I can not think of any accident to the right hand to explain the problem.
It sucks to get old is all I can say. It's for the kids who have the energy to withstand it.
