Attended a friends funeral yesterday

I attended a friend's funeral yesterday.  I have known him about 5 years.  I met him about the time I moved back here to my home town.  We were in Lion's Club together and he lived about 5 houses from me on the same street I live on.  He was diagnosed with Mesothelioma last July.  He was a retired teacher and school principal.  He was a fine Christian man and a good friend. 
They had an "Open" microphone for anyone who wanted to say a few words so, I spoke to his family about our friendship and some of the fun times he and I had.
Today, it has rained all day so, I have just kind of hung out and studied for tomorrow and played with my little dog.  She turned 6 months old last week.  She is half Welch Corgi and half Dachshund.  She is taller than a weiner dog but longer than one.  I say she is a half a dog high and a dog and a half long but, she is my baby, just the same.  I spoiled her rotten for the first day we adopted her at 8 weeks old.
