At court today

Well, Im done.  Done with the child support part of this process.  Im not sure how I feel.I expected to go in there and all hell break loose.  That didnt happen.  I expected to go in there and the judge yell and punish him for all the financial wrong he has done.  That didnt happen either. What did happen was this.  His lawyer and my lawyer talked a bunch before we went in and came up with a settlement agreement.  I get: full physical custody of the children, with joint legal.  $650 a month, and he has to seek health insurance for the kids. I feel as if he got away with it again.  Im not sure why, but that is what I feel.  Nothing happened to him about the money he owes for the house, the IRS or any of his bills.  I guess I just need to be thankful that I am getting what I am getting and not be concerned with that stuff any more.  His time will come, I was just hoping it was today:)  Of course, there always is the possibility that he doesnt pay me what he is supposed to.  That could happen.   You know, this feeling of him "getting away" with it again probably stems from me needing validation for my actions.  I was hoping someone would know the truth about him and I was hoping it would happen today in front of a judge.  Im pretty sure that is what this feeling is.In other words, he would finally get into trouble for all the wrong he has done, and it wouldnt be just my imagination. On a better note, the police came to my work last night, (I wasnt working), but my co-worker told me she identified the woman and the police are on it.  Oh, the woman who stole my wallet! And the other good news is this.  Never in my life have I had such a wonderful sense of support than I do with DS.  I got hugs upon hugs today with people/friends (!) remembering I had court this morning.  How wonderful is that?

the support is so overwhelming, and so so awesome, we deserve to be treated so special because we all are. i have to agree with you, i think it always seems they get away with so much, but remember, focus on you and the kids. where your life leads you and how you live it is going to be your reward. it\'s over now. the IRS and the bill collectors will be responsible for going after him. remember you have the most treasured parts of the marriage, the children. and now you have another gift, your freedom to love yourself and be responsible for you and the kids, take advantage of these gifts and just forget about him and his troubles. sometimes we don\'t get to see the fallout he will face. and good luck with the wallet issue. that is a terrible thing to do to someone. remember there are angels all around us.

This is a great step toward freedom and your new future without him in it. I am so happy that now he can be in the past where he belongs and you can start moving into a new life of peace for you and the children.. hugs to you, Kimmee

You have to get another court date for any other debts. The courts only handle what\'s in front of them. What ever you want to talk about you must bring up. Say you want to talk about IRS, mortgage and utilities, they must all be in the document.

Courts won\'t talk about anything that isn\'t in that.

I\'m so happy it went well. God bless.

I know how you feel I wish he would have gotten what he deserved also. This hearing was a start to your new life, free from him. Even when it is what we want, it is still hard, it is the end of that life.
