At a good place
My husband and I went up to the art gallery tonight to listen to the featured jazz band. It was outside and a beautiful evening! With friends, outside, listening to music and drinking wine - what can anyone ask for? This is the same place I teach preschool art classes and the place where my husband volunteers. The atmosphere, the people, the whole package is so therapeutic and serene. It's no wonder in this economy that this "luxury" art gallery is doing so well financially. Tomorrow we have the golf outing for the new foundation I volunteer for. It will be their first annual outing. This foundation helps to raise $ for families of adolescents who need drug treatment. My husband will be golfing with 3 other guys he recruited. One of the guys (who is very well financially off) has donated for the suicide prevention group I've been involved in. He's very generous. He also "gets it" because his wife is a mental health counselor. I don't know him very well but he's my husband tennis friend. To remind myself every now and then how far "we" have come from the horrible days of our son's substance abuse, I check last year's journal entry or even the previous. Last year, at this time, we were at the art gallery - enjoying music, friends, and wine and not worrying about T.
