Asthma. It sucks! (no film at eleven, sorry).
Ok, now that I'm about a week and a half into fighting this stupid respiratory infection I am starting to become real emotional. And, insult to injury, crying only aggravates the situation, so I have to be careful not to cry and make things physically worse. The prednesone therapy, Advair, breathing treatments, herbal teas, sleeping sitting straight up, prayer, have not yet netted me complete victory. I just want to breathe, normally, deeply, freely. I want to laugh without having to run and get my rescue inhaler. I want to have the freedom to cry without having to consider the possibility of going to the hospital for it. I want to make it all the way through one of my workout DVD's without having to take unscheduled pauses so I can use my inhaler, too. I know, I want it all, and I'm complaining like an ungrateful brat. I mean, everyone has problems. I don't care, I just want to BREATHE! Asthma is something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. The same cold that will keep you at home from work for two days will keep me out of work for a week and force me to see a physician, pick up two hundred dollars worth of prescriptions, sleep upright for weeks at a time, and more. The upside? That it's not worse. Sorry, sometimes I just really want to complain about it. The emotional aspect of having a chronic breathing disease occassionally gets to me, especially during this, the toughest season (for those of us who have asthma).
