As Professor Sumner-Miller would say....\"Why is it so?\"

Wish I had the answer to the eternal question..... Just when things seem to be settling to a routine, manageable pace, the pain starts flaring, the sleep starts dropping off, and the damn noisy brain won't shutup!!  grrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I have been reducing my Efexor quite sucessfully over the last few months - yay.  But on Friday I forgot to take it - clever I know!  So now my body is still in a tailspin trying to work out what the hell is going on. I guess it's made me realise that maybe I'll have to stay on a low dose for some time to come to control the pain and the sleep.  I didn't realise how much it helped in that area!!This not sleeping again caper is really pissing me off.  A woman in pain who isn't sleeping is not a good sight or sound to behold  I guess with everything else that's been happening lately, this is just something I really do not need!!!  I see the doctor tomorrow, and the psychiatrist who reviews my meds on Thursday, so at least we should get on top of it again soon - thank goodness.  I just sooo wanted to get off the Efexor - try and get my BP down - and then work on getting off the Tegretol. My real worry is they might want to change the Efexor to something else - I really don't want to "try" anything else due to my past experiences with nasty side effects.  The current combo works reasonably well, it's just the side effects from these ones effect my BP and liver function, rather than my personality and hallucinations..... see where I'm coming from?  I won't go on and on, I've vented enough, lol - needless to say I'm pissed off.  Though looking on the bright side - still functioning!!  I just wish I was tucked up in bed at the moment sound asleep until my alarm wakes me for work, rather than up for 2 hours beforehand with my mind ticking over about a million things I should be doing. Take care all my friends - hope you have a calm relatively pain free day.

Boy do I hear you, only with me it\'s the prednisone. It\'s like a jolt of reality after having a break. For me, I once again have to face the facts that meds are a part of my life, like it or not. I\'ve been on 4mg of prednisone for over a year now and this past week I had to go back up to 10mg for a flare that started after a flu. I hated it! But the flare is improving. Only thing is it\'ll take a good six months to decrease to 4mg and that\'s if I set up a very specific withdrawal schedule. Otherwise, the fibro flares. So, now I try to stay in the moment, and only this day. I had forgotten the hand tremors and always feeling hungry on higher doses, only I have Type II Diabetes to worry about now. I try to turn the anger and emotions into challenges to keep things positive. So take care with this challenge you have, and sleep well tonight.

Have you tried Cymbalta yet? I have, and it does have a bit a pain med in it. The one I take for sleep is \"Doxepin\" - it works for sleep, trust me.
