As one of our friends on DS Said

I never thought of it this way, but aren't we the most lucky mother's in the world to have been chosen to be the mother of our children.  Even though their life was taken too soon and our pain is so deep, what if we had not gotten to be their mother.
Of course, we would not be going through this pain, then again maybe we would have, but I would never ever take away being Ken's mom.  I  loved him, he loved me. We had a special bond as all of us do with our children.  To be Ken's mom and my other boys mom is the best I could have asked for in life, other than Ken being here with us longer.
I know each feel we have the best children in this world and the world beyond and we do, but I know I could never have had better children than I do.  They are giving, caring and loving and always give to others in need.
So even though our pain is deep and seems to hurt every minute of the day, what if we had never had the chance to be their mother.
Many years ago, I dated a famous now Nascar Racer.  One day when I told my kids they said gee mom "Why didn't you marry him, we would be rich".. I said but if I had married him,  you would not be you and I would rather have you then all the money in the world.
So even though this heartache is so indescrible, I was Kenny's mom and that I am forever greatful that God chose me to be his mom.  So Ken even though you left me way too soon, thanks for being my wonderful son.
Love, your  mom!!!!! Forever Ken's mom.
Forever, Jeffrey, Brent and Shawn's mom too!!! I love my boys!!!!!

Well said---If I had it to do over, I still would have wanted to be Tim\'s mom. In spite of his problems, he was a wonderful and caring friend to many people. Although he was a challenge to us at times (!) the good times far outweighed the bad. Thank you for sharing your perspective! Hugs, Diane

I love your entry. At my sons funeral I wrote a simple paragraph to be read. I don\'t remember the exact words but I remember feeling and writing in those first few days after his death that I knew my son belonged to a loving father in heaven who \"loaned\" him to me as a gift to take care of in this earthly life however long that may be until he needed him to return home. How could he not want him back? How could the Lord not want all of these wonderful spirits back with him. I feel grateful to have been blessed to be his mother however short the time. It warms my heart to know you feel that gratitude as well. Love to you. Robin

Like they say \"To love and to have lost is better than to have never loved at all\". The love will never die and I will cherish being Denise\'s mom forever. Thank you for inspiration. Truly, your friend, Barb

Everything you have ALL said has really given my tear ducts a work out! My son
could also be a bit of a challenge at times, but the good times definitely far outweighed the difficult ones, and I\'d do it all over again in a heartbeat, even if I knew how it was going to end... Hugs, Cherie
