arrest
Yesterday we received an envelope in the mail addressed to our son T. It said for it to only be opened by the addressee that included a return address from what looked like a law firm. What? I couldn't resist. After opening it I saw that it was advertising material - advertising their services. In the letter it said based on public court records, they found that he has a charge ~ drug abuse. I looked it up on-line and sure enough; it was a misdemeanor charge for possession of marijuana dated the Sunday of Labor Day weekend. He hasn't said a word to us but it might explain part of his old behavior coming through more. He didn't come home last night.
I wondered if I should have told my husband or not. I did and immediately he's talking about hiring a lawyer or asking our lawyer friend to help. He also wanted to talk to T about it. I begged him "NO!!". I told him that we cannot interfere. If he wants to tell us - fine. I'll will drive him there. I even resent having to pay court costs but we will do that. If he doesn't tell us and doesn't show up he knows there will be a warrant out for his arrest. That didn't sit well with my husband but I told him that we need to let him manage it. If we cover for him ~ I used the old "obscene" word "enable" him, so he agreed not to say anything. T-Man is supposed to go to court on Tuesday. He may tell us because he has no choice. What's weird is ~ he knows we know about his usage and he's open about believing that pot should be legalized. I don't know why he's holding back. So we will see - either I'm driving him to school that morning or court. We will see.......
