Argghh
I can't wait to get this pin out of my thumb! It feels like a huge splinter under my fingernail! 4 more weeks
Still alot of swelling and alot of pain especially right below the nail where it is usually sensitive. I am dying to clean under that nail but the pin is in the way. I hate dirty nails!
Another thing I hate about it is, this being summer, I tend to sweat under the splint so I keep taking it off to air it out.
It sucks having to do everything left handed! Ahh well, I should be happy I have a thumb. It will heal in time and then dr can decide what he wants to do next. He said it was a complicated injury whatever that means.

TY KR I know u r right. In fact, there seems to be more pain now then before. I think its because the nerves are regenerating.

Oh don\'t be a BABY! LOLOL! You know how blessed you are to have that thumb? Thank God for every ache and pain, it\'s coming alive, it works, it feels, it plays the guitar! Don\'t worry about dirty fingernail....at least you HAVE one! :o)
I know Jill, I thought of that after I wrote this, I am very lucky. I remember it was a busy day in the ER the day I was there and everything and everyone was backed up. They kept pushing me back and pushing me back and I didn\'t think I would ever get out of there. If I was the dr I might have said \"throw it away and tll him we couldn\'t save it, and lets go home!\" Those on-call trauma surgeons were absolutely incredible! They put up with me complaining about the assembly line ER they had there. There was a teenage girl they moved ahead of me who\'s arm was blown off in a fireworks accident. I didn\'t really mind that, poor thing.

Know that the PAIN is a good thing! If you didn\'t feel anything in that thumb, it would NOT be a good sign! Patience is key --- and you don\'t have much choice in the matter. Perhaps this is part of the lesson you will need to move through the divorce, because that is painful AND it\'s never over as quickly as we hope it will be. Hugs to you.
