April 20 Update

Hi me,
So a week has gone by.  such a busy week.  First of all, we got a cleaning lady YEAH!!!!!  So I had to clean for the cleaning lady. LOL.  I didn't finish my own two spaces (nothing unusual there, my spaces are always the last to be done).  The day room and my bedroom look much better, but they will be cleaned thoroughly on Thursday when the cleaning lady, Roxanna, comes back.  It will be so nice to have a completely clean room, day room and house.  YEAH AGAIN!!!  Now I will finally be able to work on the rest of my spring cleaning projects, and oh boy, I have a bunch.
I have saved up some money, and I am buying for myself a few treats.  One thing I bought for myself was a new chair to go with my desk in my room that I use for a vanity.  the chair macthes my furniture perfectly, and one would not know that it is not part of the set.  It has a swivel, and I found out after I put the legs on it that it is extremely comfortable.  It was a wise investment.  The old chair, beat up and dilapidated after 36 years of use, went out with the trash.  A part of me was sad to see it go, but there was nothing to it worth salvaging.  It was completely used up.
Mom got all spiffed up and went to church.  She was more nervous about it than she would admit, and they gave her a great reception.  When she came home she told me all about it, and she was so happy she cried.  She was quite overwhelmed.  I was so glad she finally went to church.  It has been too long since she has been there, especially considering how important it is to her.  She needs to be going on a regular basis.  I will do everything I can to get her out the door, but now that she has been out once, I think she realizes that she can do it, that it is in her and after this first time, she can do it again.
I went to the Seder on Tuesday. It was a grand adventure.  Bob and Susannah made me feel very welcome.  There are five in their family, plus there were four guests, and a great time was had by all.  The company was fine, and the food was delicious.  I need to fish Susannah's address out of the trash and send her a gratuitous thank-you note.  She really put on a wonderful affair.
This coming week will be very busy.  On Monday, Mom has ATI.  Tuesday, I have my Pain Doctor appointment, and I am getting a ride, so I will need to be ready for pick-up at 0930.  I have a scheduled return pick-up at 1130, so I won't be stuck waiting (thank goodness)at the site for who know how long until I can get picked up again for the return trip.  On Wednesday, Mom has ATI, and I have Etencey the nurse coming for my last appointment, to check my bleeding time for my Coumadin, and give me the once over..  On Thursday, Mom and Dad have appointments with Dr. Grotelueschen at 1130 and 1200.  I also have an appointment with Dr.Sheikh at something like 1530. On Friday Mom has ATI.  I plan to go to Shul on Friday as well.  I think it is at 2015.  I would like to go to a meeting at 1830 at the Synagogue on Wednesday, and again on Sunday.  I understand that the the Rabbi has a private Women's Big Book study meeting on Monday morning at 1100, but I am not sure, it would be ideal to be able to go to that  I am going to have to investigate to find out the exact information about the meeting
I have not been to meetings in a long time and it is about time I began going again.  I need the support of the meetings, the potential friends and the cameraderie.  AA is a fellowship.  I have been missing out on the fellowship for a long, long time.  I have been living in isolation for the last five years, and it was not a good thing.  I don't know why I was so scared of being with people, but I was.  but now I am getting over it, and I am glad for it. I am on an adventure of living life again.
Looking at my schedule for the week, there are appointments every day for at least one person, lots of scheduling and lots of shuffling, taking lots of organization.  None of us is in great health, two are in walkers (sometimes three-which reminds me, I need to get my own walker).
Speaking of not great health, now that I have the family affairs and the house in order, it is time to get my own self in order.  I  have been working on losing weight but all agree that my eating habits are atrocious.  I am getting some activity, but  I need to get more. Vitamins are a fine idea at this point:  that is probably the only way I am going to get adequate nutrition.
Last but certainly not least:  Pain issues.  My pain has been bad, to the point where I don't function as well as I need to.  I push myself constantly, and the Norco I take scares me:  what if it screws up my liver?  I will bring all this up with the pain doctor when I see him (?) on Tuesday.
So how is my bipolar?  Pleasantly stable.  YEAY.  That's one thing that has been going right.  I have had a few flares, but mostly it has been pretty good as of late.  Menopause, it seems, has helped me there.  Isn't that a beautiful thing?
Well, that's about it.  For now.

Sounds like you are on a good path. I don\'t know how you organize all of your MD visits. You must be a very strong person. Never forget that. I\'m glad you think menopause is great!lol! I had a complete hysterectomy when I was 33 due to endometriosis and I was thrown into instant menopause. It was horrible. Started having hot flashes and night sweats immediately not to mention the forgetfulness! Now I have double the forgetfulness with bp. I have to stay very mindful of where I put things and focus on one thing at a time. Hope you have a wonderful week and your MD appts. go well. HUGS!!
