Anyone Losing Hair?
I've just recently been diagnosed with Hemochromatosis, quite by accident. I'm 58, and started losing my hair at a rather rapid rate. I finally found a dermatologist who did some extensive blood work and found out I have Hemochromatosis. My numbers were about 800, and I've had my first phlebotomy.
Wondering if anyone else has had hair loss as a result of excess iron, and if so, did it come back once your numbers went down.
Don't seem to have any other symptoms that I know of, but I expect I will.
Some posts have said they can tell when they need another phlebotomy. I can't feel any difference. How do you know?

I\'ve read on many websites that hairloss is one of the symptoms of HH. Many women in my family are and have experienced this. The American Hemochromatosis Society Medline Plus and Mayo Clinic are some good places to check out symptoms,etc.
