Anybody know how to tell your brain to SHUT UP?

Because I can't quit DWELLING.   Dwelling on the judge, on the fact that I'm COMPLETELY CLUELESS about this whole court thing and couldn't get an attorney to support and guide me without $2,500 UP FRONT, GEES!  And I keep thinking about how much I might be screwing this up.... I didn't even know if I was supposed to wait for the judge to leave chambers first or not (I started to panic and left when the bailiff opened the door).   GAAA!!!  And I KNOW I should just focus on the here and now (especially since there's SILENCE next door).   So anyone got any tips on how to shut off the insanity inside my head?

And on a different subject - a customer/friend (one of the weirdos that asked me out) told me he was willing to go "take care of" my neighbor yesterday when we talked about the hearing, called me "his woman" in the process.   NA UH!!!!!!!!!   I'M in charge here, and he just found the way to remove himself from my dating options permanently.   GEES.

Going hiking.... LATER!

Nope. Insanity visits my brain often. I try to sing songs to myself.

My last court hearing I heard what the judge said about the ex over and over again in my head. He pretty much politely called him a liar and told him what he had done was wrong. When that happens it vindicates what you know was right.

You researched, you took this jerk to court and you won. That will be with you for some time. You should be proud of what you accomplished. It will gradually leave your thoughts. That fence isn\'t up yet and until it is this will stay in your mind.

Thanks, guys! That really helps, especially the singing since I\'m tone deaf and sound like a moose, lol. You made my day! :)

What I try to do to stop those recycling thoughts. I try to replace them by reciting a verse or prayer over and over in my head until the cycling thoughts are driven away. Doesn\'t always work, but sometimes it helps stop them.
Good luck. Hopefully the hiking will help too.

Hiking worked - add in some newbies to the meetup group - one of which started singing, lol - and a little laughter and dwelling was GONE! Thanks for your help! BTW, fell in the creek as well to the delight of everyone else, lol.
