Anxious dream
I just woke up from a nightmare. I dreamt that I was in a class with a paper due tomorrow. I had started a rough draft, about a page. I had shown it to my psychologist who basically rejected the whole thing and replaced it with something really bizarre that I had no idea how to work with. Something like instead of words, now it had become three dimensional. I stopped on my way home at some kind of lecture. I felt like I wasn't getting anything out of it so I got up and left feeling that I was possibly being rude. As I was leaving the lecture dismissed and I felt really stupid for getting up early when I could have stayed until the end and gotten away almost at the same time. I was sure that everyone probably thought I had been really disrespectful to the lecturer. When I got it home I had absolutely no idea what to do. What the psychologist had given me didn't really make any sense to me. It was a sequence of objects now on shelves instead of sentences. I contemplated just going back to my original rough draft and expanding on that, but it had been rejected already so I figured that that was probably not a good idea. I felt really stuck. (Somewhere in here there was something else going on that I felt bad about having to do with someone else working on their own paper and feeling really confident I think, but I just can't remember at the moment.) I started contemplating choosing another topic for my paper, but I had no idea what I could possibly choose. Then my roommate started telling me that she had lost the assignment and that she didn't have the reference book. I told her that if she could start reading the reference book right away and finish it ASAP that would be optimal because I really needed it for my own paper. She acted hesitant. I felt really put upon. This was when I woke up.
