Another year
This makes year 10. It was just a short time ago when all this journey started. Life is like the waves of the ocean, sometimes calm other times the waves are ruff and mean. The ebb and flow of tides, and we just flow along until we hit an obsticle. Today is my obsticle it has its pain that hits hard. The brain goes back to that day and replays pain. The memories are good, the little boy with so much life the young man that worked hard to make us all proud. Now all I have are the memories, they are precious and cannot be taken away.
Today I got through it, I am still alive so I can tell stories and keep memories. Mikes nieces and his stepdaughter and his son should know and have memories even if it just via me. This is how I honor Mike by keeping him alive if only in our hearts.
Telling stories is not painfull but the thought of not creating any new ones brings a tear to my eye.
On that note I should end my rambling the words are blury through my tears.
Mike keep an eye on all of us.

OH sweet Penny....it's all SO hard!!! Yes, we can smile, even laugh, and a lot of times, cry, at the memories we have; treasuring each and every one of them. And yet, to face the painful reality that there are no more to be made....that kicks us right in the heart. (((hugs)))
10 years. It seems impossible doesn't it? We never thought we'd survive a day, a month, a year, let alone all the years we have, and will. It's truly amazing what our hearts and heads can suffer through and still keep functioning.
You are in my thoughts and prayers often and I hope your sweet Mike continues to find ways to let you know he is near. I also always pray for comfort and peace for your big Mike, and continued and renewed strength for you dear friend.
Big love to you always~
Teri
With you dearest Penny and your sentence about how telling stories is not painful, yet not being able to create any new ones really touched a tender place within. I hear you and I understand and oh, how I wish I did not.
The most loving and gentle care to Mike's forever mom from Douglas and me always.
Hand in hand, Heart to heart with LOVE and the deepest of understanding.

Penny, 10 years...how can it be? As Joanie said, your words are so moving to me, too. Penny, you described this stage of my journey perfectly. Telling stories isn't the painful part is it? As you said so well and so profoundly, it's knowing we won't create new ones that hurts.
Gentle hugs and much love to you and dearest Mike, Linda ♡
Penny, right we all say how can this be...I have never put into the exact words that you did to describe this journey. Hearing all the stories about my Jeff make me smile but knowing that there will never be any more memories.
Love and hugs to you and your precious Mike...Nell, Jeff's Mom
Each memory is so precious. Like a treasure to be enjoyed over again. Thinking of you and your Mike. May the love of our son's keep us in peace as we continue to go on and honor their lives and influences we where given, if only for awhile. Love and blessings, Debbie,, Christopher's mom
Tight hugs Penny. We made it through 9 years. You are right - all we have is memories. I love talking about Lisa but like you I sometimes lose it, knowing she isn't making new memories for us all. I suspect she and Mike are commiserating.
Love to Mike and his mom from Lisa and her mom
Penny, I am trying to remember the happy times, but am so bogged down with the drama here that it am having a hard time doing so.
Wishing my head would just go back to that happiness of my girls. Our children are all together and shaking their heads at us as we continue coping on this journey. Peace to you today. Hugs, Kathy
