Another year

Here we are and another year has almost gone.  As of April 18th I will have another year sober.  That makes 3 years for me and it does feel so good.  This past year has definately had it's ups and downs but by the grace of God I have made it through the downs and enjoyed the ups.  Right now my world is sort of falling apart.  My daughter has moved out of the house and in with her boyfriend and his grandmother.  Our relationship is very strained and I don't know if it will ever be the same again.  I just keep praying and hoping that she will come to her senses and come back home where she belongs.  In the very beginning of this time I wanted to pick up a drink and medicate my hurt and anger but I talked with my sponsor and she made me realize that picking up again was not the answer and would only complicate things.  So here I sit today sober and alone.  I am getting used to the being alone part and the sober part is something that my life has become accustomed to.  I cannot see going back out there and picking up again.  For this I am truly grateful for today.
