Another week, still the same floppy pattern.
Generally, I think I balance things pretty well. If I am particularly down one day, it gets better the next. I always try to find something a little more positive, artistic, expressive to do. Perhaps I expect changes to come quicker than they actually are. At some points, today being one, there is more frustration over being left here in the place alone, with really not a thing to look forward to. An empty void exists. I'm back to where I was many years ago. The feeling of having so much life, potential, so much to give and, yet, nowhere to direct it. These energies have no where to go. Hard emotions to convey, but I'm sure I'm not alone in it.
The great capitalistic society has miserably failed. Whereas people can furnish themselves with superficial material goods, the solutions to those inner longings of the soul simply cannot be provided by gripping on to anything in society. The answers must come from our innate spirituality; we must tap into that. Our lives contain all the elements we need - we just need to shape it. We need to find another quest - another reason to go on that is greater than the sum total of ourselves to give us a reason to live again. Doing that, we will find happiness and contentment once more.

I\'ll send you an email with my thoughts :)
Sometimes I have been grateful that I grew up poor, as it meant I never looked to the material side of this existence for contentment. My needs have always been very simple, and I prefer to do things that are creative or that feed my brain. I get antsy when I am not sure what to do with all the ideas that pop into my head. Maybe you are having the same problem I am - figuring out how to focus it? Cliff and I were activists together and that made directing some of my energies easier to sort out as we did whatever it was together. It was harder after he died, and I no longer had the same sounding board.
The one piece of advice I will give you, for whatever it\'s worth, is that whatever you do does not have to be monumental. Don\'t let the smallness of acts deter you from taking the first steps. I agree with what you\'ve written, and I hope you are able to find your way again.
Much Love and Hugs,
Martha
