Another Update- 10 months Post Op

Another update... so I think I've learned that stress plays a huge part in the way our body handles Graves disease or possibly any thyroid disease.  I no longer have my thyroid so my body depends on a daily pill to keep up and since my surgery, I have felt absolutely awesome and have no regrets.  As a matter of fact, I think it's the best decision I've ever made and I am glad I took a proactive approach in my health.  However, in the last month, I have had a tremondous amount of stress lay on my shoulders and I've noticed the heart flutters are back.  UGH.  How I don't miss this.  I thought it might be my levels being off so I labbed and my levels look awesome.  Slightly on hyper end but that's where we want it to be when we no longer have a thyroid.  Since my stress has entered my life with a vengeance, I've had heart flutters, I've been tired, cold all the time, had extreme anxiety, my hair is falling out again, and I've had dizzy spells here and there.  I've had a full CBC and nothing came back abnormal so I decided to adjust my synthroid on my own (bad idea).... don't do it! I thought maybe i was just slightly too hyper for my own body so I reduced my synthroid from 100 mcg 4 days a week and 112 mcg 3 days a week to 100 mcg 5 days a week and 112 two days a week... and I felt terrible about 2 weeks after adjusting it.  Not knowing if it was related or not, I decided to go to my endo and see what the heck was going on as my primary care physician did an EKG and eliminated that and said he thought it was stress related.  My endo decided that I should go slightly more hyper and increased my synthroid to 112 seven days a week...so it's a wait and see what happens. However, in increasing my synthroid to 112mcg daily, he said I may need to go back on propranolol to regulate and control my heart rate as it may raise my heart rate to an uncomfortable rate for me. UGH.  Not looking forward to it but am willing to take his advice and try.  He believes increaesing my synthroid slightly will stop the hair loss, the cold feeling all the time, and the control the anxiety better... I am also being sent to a cardiologist to rule out any heart conditions due to the flutters I've been having.  I will keep you posted as I progress thru this and see where it takes me.  I still believe that I made the best decision by having my thyroid taken out completely.
