Another Surprising Update about my ER visit
I decided to turn my negative ER experience into a positive experience all around and filed a complaint with the hospital. About 3 hrs ago I got a phone call from the ER Manager/Educator. I told her about all the things that I felt could have been handled differently and how I felt ignored, treated like an old shoe, and well pretty much told I was a drug seeking crazy. She apologized and asked what my dx was. When I informed her she said in her 40 yrs of nursing, she had never heard of it. She asked me to spell it and explain to her about it. She was full of questions and was eager for me to tell her. After about 2 hours, she asked me what I was hoping for as an outcome of this complaint. I told her that I didn't file a complaint to hurt anyone or make them feel the way I had felt that night, but to educate people about my dx and help them understand so they can better treat me the next time. Because we all know that there will be a next time. She assured me that next month, for their training, she will have both my Neuro and my NS come in to educate and would like me to come and tell my story. I'm taking a lot of info to her as well. Education...Education...Education!!!
