Another Rough Patch
I haven't been on too much lately. I've had alot of issues and have just been trying to deal with and simply hiding out here at home. I was using a vacation day here and there and working less hours for awhile.
Still doing physical therapy and have a follow up with neck and spine guys this week. Boss quit so I'm doing normal hours for the next couple of weeks, but am looking into cutting back and going for disablilty soon.I contacted an attorney and they think I have a very good case.
I know where I want to move to, but worry about making sure financing is in place. Contractor has been here working on finishing the spare room and just has to paint and replace trim. But I will have to put it on the market since the neighbors sister is no longer going to buy here since they are relocating.
I've had problems with no water 3 times this month. Just a few days ago again, but this time was the community's issue and they had it turned off. Right before the frigid temps... but thankfully this time no issues with freezing pipes.
I've spent most of my time retreating and watching way too much Netflix. And turning to comfort food when I hurt or am overwhelmed. Gotta work on both bad habits. They are all that is always there and makes me feel better (temporarily)

Wow, you have a lot on your plate. But clearly you have a good grasp of what's going on. I pray that the Lord will give you strength and wisdom to deal with all these issues and come out victorious. Sleep well tonight--that helps too. God bless you.
After my accident I was lucky to have a great physical therapist. Who ended up helping me with mental therapy too by telling me that I was responsible for the level of.recovery I wanted. At the time I felt like such a train wreck that I couldn't see how I could heal. It was this time that I quit drinking and while I'm not involved in AA I did read the literature and the one day at a time concept really is the wise approach to recovery no matter what the issues are. It also helps to try and not combine all the problems in your head. When you are doing the exercises don't be worrying about finances. When you're dealing with disability don't include getting the house ready to sell. One thing at a time, one day at a time. Hugs, Jason
Agree about one thing at a time. A little healthy mental compartmentalizing helps me when I have what feels like so many unresolved things to deal with.
I take comfort in food sometimes too. I try to not beat myself up about it. Doing that just makes me turn to food even more. I just still to do some form of exercise, walking or yoga even when I have those times I rely on food. I really am not a yoga fan myself but the stretches help me physically and help me reset my mind a bit in the process.
You are doing ok!
Guilty of netflix binging and turning to comfort food as well. Some of my happiest memories include food in one way or another, baking with my mother or kids, eating with family or at nice restaurants on special occasions. It's a very hard habit to break. I agree that you shouldn't beat yourself up about it because yes, it does lead to you feeling worse and then again turning to food. I definitely think part of my problem is that I used to turn to my husband for comfort and found comfort in cuddling and sex and that's been gone for over 3 years now so I must find comfort elsewhere. I am glad you are sticking with your physical therapy and hope it's helping. I find it hard to be well mentally when I feel awful physically. I keep promising myself I'll take more walks but that's not happening. Before Covid I had a mild social phobia and since it's gotten much worse. I have days where I just don't want to interact with or even see a stranger. I get very anxious about it and it makes it very hard to leave the house. I hope you get to move soon. I think a change of scenery and pace does us all good. I am still hoping to somehow get out of where I am. There are way too many negative memories in what's never really been a home to me and I want a clean start. Plus I've gone from a family of many to just having one child at home and the thought of downsizing sounds absolutely wonderful. I'd love to spend less time cleaning! I think of you often and am always wishing you well. Hang in there. Live for the good days.
Big Huggs my friend and hope thing get better for you! Definetly go for the disability and do what ever makes you happy!
I have the firestix and it's gotten me through a lot of restless days. As for comfort foods? To many to name but hey, you got to eat something right? lol Hang in there, you'll get through it.
