Another Rough One....

Got through Mother's Day ok... just a little sentimental and teary.  Completely ignored by family except BIL who texts last night to TELL me he is coming TODAY to work on my bathroom (which he hasn't forever)

Had to get up before 3 am for inventory@ 4 am. That went ok, but a few cranky coworkers did rile the rest of us up.

BIL calls to tell me he and my bro are coming back tomorrow to do more work in the bathroom. Also tells me there is an issue with my outside water . I haven't used it for a few years... now it just trickles... so there may be another problem. He was planning on power washing outside for me.butmay hook up to laundry hookup just inside. (If he tries that I fear something else may go wrong)

WE had bad rain a few days ago and heavy winds practicially every day since. Now I notice a small wet spot on my dining room ceiling (not to mention big spots in the computer room ). Am fearing I will need to replace the whole fucking roof.

Still need to at least redo the decks.  Money is gone before I know it.  (And that is if it ever comes... I had to get back to the money guy to put the final paperwork through on closing up and settling his estate claim . Was trying to get a decent chunk now to cover these costs. )

Am chatting with 2 local guys. Was gonna meet one for an outside meet and picnic on Wed.... but will probably put off . Supposed to be cold. Plus he is 65 and while I am no spring chicken, I have been around people at work. I don't want to put him at risk. (Although I believe he has worked on occasion as well recently. Drove to NY with a delivery. Considering that is a hot zone. that concerns me a little too.)

Actually got reattached to the second guy and was ;looking forward to meeting him as well... but after more chatting he tells me he thinks much as I want this, I am not ready yet... or for him, but says he still wants to keep chatting and when and if I am ready-- just give him a holler. (So feeling like that is another rejection ... even though I think he is being nice about it.)

Don't know--- just having a rough day. Too much shit for one day!!!   Augh!!!

Also another friend from here did text me when all this was going on, while my phone was dying. I felt bad because I had to recharge the phone .  (Bob I am not ignoring you... just bad timing. Promise to text you later.  ")       )

Just needed to vent as noone to talk to or listen.

I hope you all had better, less eventful days.

Hi Kim. I told you that you can call me anytime. Not just words:) I imagine that this Mother’s Day was even harder with the empty house and all you have been through this year. When it rains it pours. That goes for emotions too.
You have a lot of fans here. Because of how well you have expressed yourself. That’s really special. Keep using your gift. XO

Check your homeowners insurance. It will pay for that leaky roof!

House stuff always stressed me out too. We had lived in a 100 year old house for 20 years. It was in pretty good shape, but we'd go in stretches where it seemed like once something went, 5 other things went too. My husband would just say, there's no point in getting worked up about it. You figure out the problem, you fix it and then there's no more problem. And he was right. They were just problems to be solved. Still it would drive my anxiety through the roof sometimes. Most of what I got worked up about was all the what ifs, rather than anything based in fact, and most of what I got worked up about never even happened anyway or at least it ended up not being the catastrophe I made it to be in my head. Funny how we make manageable things less manageable just through anxiety and worry.

Anyway, if I can offer anything, it's to just prioritize the issues, and work on those things first that are a priority. I know for me, once I accept it can't or doesn't need to all get done immediately or at the same time, it's easier to work through the things that need to be addressed and it feels good to start checking them off. You're lucky to have people who can help you with some of the work. That to me is sometimes half the battle.

We decided last year to sell that house and down size. Best decision ever. We are renting at the moment and I don't miss home ownership at all. We decided to rent an apartment until we figure out if we want to buy a condo at some point. I love where I live, love the ease of just coming home and feeling like I can relax and not worry about. The rent is more expensive than our house payment but the utilities are much less expensive and the amenities are nice. And we are not spending all our free time fixing stuff or maintaining stuff and that is worth every extra penny we spend to live here. I just wanted to share that with you because it may be something to consider down the road. It just would be nice for you to be able to finally kick back and relax a bit, not worry about all this stuff, and too, just be in a more social environment where you at least are around people, life, activity.
