Another proposed increase in meds, what else is new

Good morning journal, the time is now 11:19am and I have been awake since just after 9:00am.I have spent some time reading, and in some cases responding, to various posts on this wonderful site of ours, and it never fails to amaze me just how much love and concern, not to mention support, that literally resounds from every corner of this, our little cyber world. All of these different and diverse people that I do not know personally, and probably never will, who take the time to reply to those of us in need of a comforting word, have become more than just friends to me,they are family, and I care for them every bit as much as they have shown they do for me.Yesterday,I had a meeting with John my mental health therapist,he is concerned that my mental well being is deteriorating, and he has recommended an increase in my anti psychotic medication to try and stabilize my mood swings and to help with the voices that I,and I alone, hear. He is also concerned that the voices in my head have gone from auditory hallucinations to visual at times,I actually see who is speaking to me in my mind,I know,it doesn't make any sense to me either. On the upside,my relationship with my wife is the best it has been in a long time,I used to see my silence as protecting her, when instead it made her feel alienated from me,what I saw as an inner strength in me made her feel shut out and as if I didn't trust her,I was wrong and I see that now. When I see my doctor next Wednesday,he will no doubt be in agreement with my therapist and increase the dosage of quetiapine/seroquel from 200mls a day to John's recommendation of 300mls,which will mean the dosage has been increased twice in one month, not exactly ideal, but at least it might just keep me on the right side of the sanity wall, which would be something I would very much prefer it has to be said. The designated games nights that my wife and I have chosen to integrate into our week are both enjoyable and beneficial to us both,it is when we can both do something together rather than being in the same room doing different things, which is good.We play board games and cards,we have quizzes, and it is surprising just how much time can pass when you don't continually look at the clock. It is one of the few times that I feel"normal",for want of a better description, and I enjoy it very much.Well journal,it is time once again to leave here and get on with the business of living today, until the next time may peace and contentment be prevalent in us and in our home.

I marvel how much at peace you can be, amidst a lot of adversities.....
My mother is acutely schizhophrenic, and I never see her at peace. That is also something that contributes to my depression.

Hi Scott. Since we are new friends of one day I don\'t know much about you or have I read any of your other journals. Just wanted to say that I hope that if the doc increases your meds it will help you feel better and help with the mood swings and will help to stabalize your moods. I am happy that your relationship with your wife is better than it has been a long time. That\'s a great thing :0)

Big hugs my new friend ~
