Another Mothers Day

I am at my son and DIL's house this weekend helping to pack up.  They sold their house and are moving on the 27th.
Yesterday, Tiina asked if I felt up to packing up a curio cabinet.  Not just any curio cabinet, but one that belonged to Joe's mom and dad.  It contained precious memories such as Joe's dad's ashes, the turtle collection that my MIL left to Andrew, the photo books that Joe made after Lisa and his parents' parents died, some photos and memories of loved ones.
Tiina thought I might not be up to it, but I am glad I did.  I wrapped each item with love and care.  I flipped through the pages of Lisa's book and smiled at some of the images of happy times.  Yes I shed a tear, but I am glad that I was able to have the time alone to spend with Lisa and her grandparents.
Andrew and Tiina took me out for Sushi last night.  Not a bad day at all. Today we are off to Tiina's parents' home for a Mothers Day Dinner.  Her mom insists on doing the cooking for her day!
So today will be an okay day.
Thank you Lisa for 37 years of love here.  I sure miss the hugs.  I miss you always and love you forever, Mummy

Packing and moving is so much work and so many memories in everything we see and touch. Tina is very thoughtful to consider your feelings about it before asking you to help.

I\'ve chosen to ignore Mother\'s Day. Jim called me this morning to wish me a happy mother\'s day but other than that I\'m just ignoring it.

Feels as if the day has been unfolding just as you need it to. Yes, how thoughtful of Tina to not assume, yet ask if you were up to helping with that task. Moments of many memories of that I am certain were yours.

Hope your dinner is enjoyable and I too celebrated on Friday so today is just another day and that\'s okay with me. Friday was my daughter\'s 28th birthday so we combined the two and that is just how it unfolded for this year. Whatever works and is gentle on my heart I\'m all for.

Lots of love and careful with all that packing as that is a lot of work!

Thinking of you today, dear Marlene. I still haven\'t looked at the book my husband wrote about Jacob. Don\'t have the courage. I\'m glad your courage made for a good experience. I took a zanex and we went out for hamburgers. Love you and Lisa, Abby ( I like your comments on my entry).

Smiles and tears for FMO today. It does feel good to wrap with care memories. The chore is happy and sad at the same time. It feels good to smile but also to cry when you are doing something like that. Hugs, Peggy

Marlene, I am glad you made the right decision for you...and that tenderly wrapping up all the memories was a good experience. How thoughtful of Tiina to ask if you were up to it. Your DIL must love you a great deal!
I too was blessed with my son for 37 years. I think of the moms whose children passed so much younger than Ed and I feel blessed yet I still wanted so many more years...I know you understand. I wish you had many, many more years with your lovely Lisa. One day we will have eternity with them. So hard to wait for our reunion though, isn\'t it? Much love to you and Lisa, Linda
