Another great conference
Hi Sisters of the Heart - Remember the week-end conference I attended in May - Umbrella Ministries - for moms who have lost their children? I attended a luncheon on Saturday under Umbrella Ministries - it was awesome!! A co-worker attended with me as she lost her son 3 years ago. This is such an uplifting group of women. The luncheon was on a much smaller scale (45 women in attendance). Immediately upon arrival, the acceptance, words unspoken, "that look" gives such comfort and hugs all around....
The speaker was Linda Stirling. She gives us hope on this journey - one of the most meaningful songs that were sung which you can find on You Tube....HEALING HALLELUJAH by BJ JENSON.....This is a song for moms who have lost children - done in sign language....well worth the watch if you get a chance...have your kleenex ready.....We also saw a video by Ann Voskamp....she has written a book titled One Thousand Gifts....she talked about how being thankful equals joy.....start a journal of being thankful....she listed simple things like the way the sun shines in her kitchen window in the morning; how the leaves sound when there's a wind, etc......she experienced witnessing the death of her sister being run over and because of that, was depressed, anxious, ........how she began her healing was to begin being thankful....

What an uplifting journal! I am so glad you were able to be with kindred spirits. It is truly awesome to be in a room full of people who \'get it\'.

My mom called it an \"Attitude of Gratitude\" and I watched her lean into it when she lost her son, my brother. There is always something to be thankful for and finding it and pausing to give gratitude shifts my heart again and again and again.
Loved reading what you were up to and thank YOU for sharing what touched you.
