Another Friend Dies
Thurs. morning about 7:40 am, I heard the fire whisle go off when signals either a fire, a medical emergency or some other tragedy. I went to the local coffee shop and it wasn't long before the preliminary news started coming in. My friend was found across the road from his home, laying in a ditch. He was dead.
Rumors began to spread and yet today, nothing has been announced at fact however, it is believed that he committed suicide. His visitation is Tuesday evening from 5pm to 7pm.
I have known him for probaby 55 years. He grew up about 4 miles from me. I knew his mother well. She passed away about 11 months ago.
Roger was a crazy guy and I had visited him numerous times when he was hospitalized about 2 yrs. ago and, I invited him to church, many time. He came to my church, one time.
I never thought Roger would do anything like take his own life but, we don't always know what's going on in a person's mind. If something else turns up concerning Roger's death, I will update this entry.

Oh wow... I'm sorry for the loss of your long time friend. It's always really sad when someone takes their life. I don't know if he has any family but may God bring peace and comfort to his loved ones during this time.
A few years ago, I was just catching up with a buddy I served with when he was found dead. His death pained our little veterans group. At first it was assumed to be an accident, but about a month later it was revealed that it was a PTSD related suicide. It shook all of us who served with him. So whenever someone tells me their friend committed suicide, I know how sad and painful it is. Especially all of the questions. Sending you a gentle ((((hug)))). God bless.
Thank You Bluesky.
Big hug for you sweetie..... I am so sorry that you have lost your old friend..... I hope that he's now at peace...... xo
