Another friend dies
I got a call yesterday morning about a friend who was very bad. I went to the ICU of a local hospital and her family was there. We talked and she said she wanted to go home and they told her she could. She was released yesterday afternoon. There was nothing more they could do for her and she wanted to go home to die.
At about 9 am, this morning, I received a call that she was worse so I went to her house. She was not responsive at all. I stayed with her family till the hospice nurse came. She checked her vitals and changed her bed. They gave her some more morphine and I stayed for about another 30 minutes then, I left to make another appointment about 50 miles South of where I live. I got a phone call about an hour or so after I arrived there and they told me she had passed. I came back home to her house and waited for the local funeral home to arrive. After they took her out, the family and I joined hands and had prayer. I had known Judy over 50 years. Her husband and I worked together back in the early 60's. She was 71. They would have been married 55 years next month.
I will be doing her funeral probably Thurs or Friday. The family will make the arrangements tomorrow.

I have learned that life is all about \"death\"....that \"passing\" is a better word for those of us who know that this is not our home....I know her family will the need the comfort of a close friend as they experience all the emotions of Judy\'s passing...as she moves into her real home.
