Another Foot Forward
I had a good day yesterday. Felt a bit funky in the morning but that cleared up and was doing better. I was careful and actually stopped to think of everything I ate as far as if it was a good option . My sugars are finally below 200 and today is the day I start Ozempic and Jardience.I lost another 5 pounds since the last Doctor visit (4 from the one before that so 9 so far. )
I did my exercises and warm up on the bike and am headed back on for a bit after I am done typing. Others remind me not to overdo when I first get back into it (with the bike) but for me it has been so difficult even walking because of lack of exercise and loss of core strength and issues with feet and arthritis. But I see (and remember) what good this does to kick start me because as I build up that strength and stamina I will be able to move easier and do more with others
Cross your fingers and say a prayer as I continue forward. I will also send all those prayers for all of you as you move forward with your struggles, joys, challenges on your journeys as well. That is what we are all here for (in my opinion anyway)
Hugs,
Kim

I heard that you can reverse diabeties just by losing weight. Ozempic might help you reach your weight loss goal much quicker then you could ever imagine. Good luck with that. I hope it all works out for you. We will pray with you, for success on your journey to a happier and healthier life....Hugs.
Bob some times weight loss helps with diabetes for sure but if you have issues with the insulin not being produced in your body weight loss is not going to do the trick....
Kim keep working with this....diabetes is serious and causes latent issues like bleeding inside eyes that can cause blindness and poor circulation causing gangreen in toes because they do not heal from diabetes causing healing in people to take longer also kidneys are in jeopardy too....that is why having an endocrinologist is so so so important.....this is their specialty.....they know the latest and greatest stuff regarding your diabetes.....and exercise and I are not friends and probably never will be in fact I have had exercise on my resentment list since Junior high school....LOL
Way to go Kim!
Thanks everybody. As far as reversing diabetes, I would love to be able to do that but sincerely doubt it. At the very least this will help me along and I can at least adjust or eliminate some of my current medications. I just started the Ozempic at 3:30 and my last 2 readings were actually very good. I am hoping for an almost normal read in the morning (which is pretty quick) so I will really need to monitor . She did tell me to let her know since I am still doing 2 insulins and the damn Metformin. The hope is to readjust then possibly eliminate some of it
Ozempic does not drop the blood sugar the way that insulin does and metformin allows the cells to access insulin that is in the system.....Ozempic will help bring down the blood sugar but it is by reducing how much you crave to eat and making you feel full with smaller amounts of food......
so I would think if the numbers are lower in morning it is the combo of the two insulins and the metformin before I would put any weight into it being a direct result of Ozempic......but hopefully its big side effect of weight loss happens for you but there are some bad side effects too as lawyers are advertising things that they want you to call them if you had issues with because you are using ozempic.....
Very interesting discussion. Learned a lot. Kim, I just wish you the best and you remind me to keep trying, keep going, don't give up.
Thanks. I am also learning as I go.
