Another early morning, and in my chair again
Good morning journal, the time is 6:11am,I am fully awake and in my chair again, courtesy of our oldest canine child's attentions who woke me with a need to go out.She is an old lady now,but much loved by us,twelve years old or so,her liver and white coat still glossy, and still surprisingly energetic and full of life.We stood in the garden as she snuffled her nose in the snow, returning to me periodically for a reassuring stroke on the head, and throwing her paw at me to shake hands. Her other favorite trick is the"nose kiss",she will reach up to kiss whoever is the object of her attentions at the time, and as she kisses the nose, she administers the gentlest nibble on the end,not painful, and ever so cute.Of all our dogs,Buttons is the calmest, and also the aristocrat of the family, she is a short haired German pointer of class, graceful and sleek, and an absolute pleasure in our lives. At this present moment, she is reclining on the sofa under her blanket with which I covered her,she does tend to feel the cold more these days, and is blissfully content and sound asleep. Our house is silent once more, except for the clicking of my keyboard, and it is pleasant to be able to sit in the quiet and collect my thoughts.
So,what news journal?,I have to have blood taken on the 5th of February in preparation for my next diabetic review, unlike a lot of people needles do not bother me at all,I have had so many of varying sizes inserted in both arms, wrists, stomach and back over the past few years that I seem to have grown immune to them;but it is tedious and time consuming, and for these particular bloods,I have to fast from 10pm the previous evening, the food aspect doesn't bother me,but I do get terribly thirsty.I continue to strive to remain positive about the future, but it does weigh heavily on my mind, and causes me both sleepless nights and restless days, something has to change for us,but just at this moment,I confess,I can see no answers forthcoming in the short term. When I see my doctor next Monday,I will get the necessary paperwork to claim long term sickness benefit, while my claim for disabled living allowance is looked at independently, but all this takes time, and time is a luxury we really don't have in abundance.Well, enough of my moaning for now,I have a need for a fresh injection of caffeine so I will leave you for today;walk with me through it,and let us hope that tomorrow brings a reason for a little hope;peace be with us.
