another....dying cat
What a lousy july 4th, to see, at 9 this morning, the homeless cat I feed, with his black fur starting to turn brown----which is a sign of liver or kidney failure.
Poor cat; I'll start giving him better food, hoping that will help him...and splurge on a twenty dollar bottle of vitamin e to spray on him, when somebody can give me a ride to pet supply place a little out of town. But, I started doing that with my own cat, in January, and put him to sleep days later.
This poor cat got abandoned around the same time, when scumbag neighbors moved. The women who had the cat loiters in the library, on days for me to avoid her; she goes to church with one of the librarians, so I get silent nasty looks when I go inside. Small towns, small town churches, small town libraries.
poor damn cat, and two others I feed that have busted ear veins from fleas and mites, with one of the cats also looking half blind. Cant imagine any of them making it through another winter; summer even seems to be worse on them than last winter.

A vet once told me about a kindness you can do for animals in the heat. Get some large plastic bottles, fill with water and freeze them. Then put them somewhere the animals can lie down next to them.
I will try the ice, but...so frustrating how cats sometimes wont let you save them.

I know Mike! I grieve Claudie and Roger constantly. I have kitten fever SOOOO bad, but it is just not the right time. I also kind of think I will likely be 70 before Picard and Thunder pass it might not be a good idea to get a new kitten

I have the money to get the cats outside my window neutered, but a woman who said she\'d help me trap them seems to be helping lots others, including people who force her to spend her own money, though she complains they can afford neutering.
the one homeless cat outside, Rudolph cause of his pink nose, I could probably grab with my bare hands, though fleas and diseases are stopping me from doing so.
