another dry wedding triumph!
I made it through a tough one last night, another wedding, this one was one of my brother's friends, so it was childhood, neighborhood-type people and stuff, and my crazy brother, and my sisters... And they were drinking and dancing... My sisterinlaw brought a tiny glass of red wine over to the table during dinner, and do you know, I could smell that thing across the giant, round, 8-seater table! It was like a cartoon, like I was wafting over in mid-air, following the scent... It was TOUGH, ya'll! We danced for about 2 hours straight, and SIL kept breathing that red wine on me until I thought I was maybe CHEATING, there were so many ALCOHOL MOLECULES making their way down my nasal passages, you know... I did it though, I danced my ass off, I laughed, I drank coffee and sprite and water... I looked around nervously at times,... like... ohhhh... what next... ohhhhh... what do I do withmy hands.... but then I would say, hey girl, confidence now.... relaxxxx... enjoy this beautiful wedding... enjoy your sisters and your daughter... dancing... And I did! The best was, walking out of the banquet hall, into the night, and the giant, glowing full moon in the sky, and my daughter with me, and we talked and we laughed, and I was sober, I had been a good example... finally... We drove home, it was an hour away, I wasn't even tired, which is amazing, I'm always falling asleep on the way home, but I drove, and I talked with my daughter about the tattoo she wants to get, and about her plans for her future... and before I knew it we were home and in jammies and cuddling up to watch TV...And I'm up early today to go yard-saleing... I feel great. No regrets. That's the reward. The rest of my life.
