Another Dip In The Road

I realize I have no right to complain , after all I'm hardly ever on here anymore....plus many more have problems worse than mine.

I've been stuck at home for days and have had too much time to think. I'm afraid I've jumped aboard the old pity party train. Just having a very blue day.

Feeling alone, thinking back to past relationships that weren't that good.... Then hopes for opportunities for things to change....took a few big chances which would result in an experience otherwise missed or another lesson on my journey.

Pretty bad when it results in me playing back a few messages of someone special I grew very close to but was so far away. Just seeing his smiling face and some recorded messages.... and hearing a simple "I love you" fueled my imagination and gave me a glimmer of hope.

But now reality is setting in. I now realize my entire life  I have always settled. Those hopes and dreams are beyond reach now.

Feeling like perhaps I should let them go...go through each monotonous day going through the motions ....

Sorry...hopefully I will get off the pity pot soon

Hi, Kim. I hope the shingles are better now or at least getting better. I'm sorry for how you're feeling, and I understand, but let me encourage you by what has happened with me. I'm older than you are (76) and have had to say goodbye to many of my dreams too. My oldest daughter, my husband, my mom, and my brother who lived with me a couple years before his heart attack--all of them are in heaven now. But I have found that leaning on God has held me together. Friends at church have been encouraging and helpful, and this past year I took in 3 people to live in my house. They all needed a place they could afford and I needed company and helping hands. Wayne came because his daughter, a friend of my youngest daughter, is ill and needed help, but had no room for him to sleep at her tiny trailer. Bonnie came because she lost her apartment and couldn't afford another place. She goes to the same church as my friend I met swimming at the Y. Nadi is a college student from Bulgaria, and she also found me through the YMCA, needing a home cheaper than the dorm. All 3 of these people are a blessing to me, and they get along with each other too. I tell you all this to say that God has good plans for you and if you know Him and lean on Him, He will bring about more joy for you. You have time left to do some good things and make connections that will refresh your heart. I pray that for you.

Having a roommate could help. I had a lady here where I live and she was from my church. No where to go and family wouldn't help her.
It was good in some ways. I missed her when she was gone and we still talk occasionally. There could be drawbacks too. But like above responder said it can work out.
