Another Death

Last night at approx. 9:30 pm., my oldest daughter called me and I knew as soon as she said "dad", that something was terribly wrong.  She then said, "mom's husband just died".   His name was Gary and he and my Ex married about 20 years ago.  He was about 13 years older than she is.  He was a good man and as far as I know, he treated my ex very well.  For the first few years, he was kind of intimidated by me I guess due to my past as a Biker and as her ex-husband.  During the last 10 years, he and I would meet and we would shake hands and talk.  I treated him with respect and He did the same for me.  I am very saddened by his death.  As far as I know, he was not a Christian and his nephew told me that he didn't think  Gary had ever been to church in his life.  This is the tragic part.  Gary was invited to my church by his nephew but, he never did attend.  My heart and prayers go out to his family.  He has 2 grown daughters and other relatives as well as a brother.
