another day to be thankful

Hello everyone,
Monday begins a new turn in our journey.  Steve will start his radiation and we are a little nervous.  I am a lot but can't say that to him.  He watches me a lot. Have caught him several times just looking at me.  He has starting to give me passwords to business dealings.  Most of them I already knew.   I have always  just let him handle things, as long as I got what I wanted it just never mattered.  Guess I am old school and let him take care of matters and me.  We have discussed everything in the world in the past almost 13 years, about living and death.  I have often thought what was worse to lose someone you love suddenly or to have time to plan things but have to see the one you love suffer.
He is strong and we are going to fight with every thing in us,  just a little down this morning.  You, my dear friends have been an inspiration to me. I care about all of you.
I have a friend suffering today.  She lost her husband after a long battle.  Karen if you read this I am so sorry for the  pain you are suffering.  We are here to support you in the coming days.
Thank you for praying for us,  I know you will, no question.  I have prayed for so many on this site.  God bless each of you.
Wanda

Dear Wanda,
Just a short comment to tell you that I believe that Steve will do just fine and will come out of this ahead. I pray for the two of you as you embark on this new leg of the cancer journey. Keep the faith.

Hello Honey!

Whenever we\'re facing new things, it\'s always scary. Like Gloria, I also believe that Steve will do well with the radiation. He\'s an amazing man and you are an amazing woman!

My heart also aches for dear Karen. I can only imagine how difficult the days ahead will be for her. Bob fought a brave battle, and she was such a saint to have him at home. I am praying for Karen and all the family.

Over the four years Ray has had this disease, we have also discussed so many business related things. I\'m sure it makes Steve and Ray feel more secure knowing that we\'ll be able to manage alone if/when that time comes. It\'s not a subject I enjoy...and sure you feel the same. Let\'s just be grateful that we have husbands that love us and want to be sure we\'ll always be taken care of.

Take care of yourself, my dear friend. I will be saying special prayers for you and Steve.

My Love,
Ingrid

Dearest Wanda, After the 1st radiation treatment, your fears will be greatly reduced...the unknown is always so much harder to bear. Steve will have minimal side effects because of the great advances in this treatment. A month from now,or whenever he is scanned again, I hope with all my heart that the results will be overwhelmingly positive. For now, you just need all your courage to go with Steve down this new road. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Love, Linda

Wanda, of course you are nervous! This is something new for both of you, you don\'t know what to expect. I think like a lot of things we worry about, the worry is worse than the actual experience. I will be praying for you and Steve, that things go smoothly, and side effects are minimal. Remember that God is with you on this part of the journey also!
Hugs,
Karen

goodness I thought I wasn\'t going to be able to place to write. I hate that word, that nasty C word. I can only think about how I feel about my mom, and compare Steve to my mom and you to me. you know you need to be strong for them but there is only so much strong in the world. who\'s suppose to be strong for us? I guess I just keep turning to God he problily is getting tired of caring for me me but I still only see one set of foot prints. So I know He\'s still there. I have a prayer box for special prayers for special people or things, both you & Steve are in my box. if there is anything else I can do just let me know. love ya, Donna

Wanda being nervous is natural when you are facing a new treatment. Both you are Steve are in my thoughts and prayers. To your question which is worse, suddenly. I had no idea to any passwords, and all bill were paid on line, retirement accounts, who had them where they were, etc. I took months to get things back to normal. I am all for planning and tell my children to know all there is to know about finances. I bet that Steve is thinking what an increadable worman he is married to when he stares at you. You are his anchor and strength. Please remember to take care of you during all this. I will say more prayers tonight God bless you both. Hugs Jane

I know the fear and being nervous about new treatments. As I said before, I think radiation was the least bothersome of all the treatments Dan had. I just wish you didn\'t have to go through this. It is so hard to watch what cancer does to a big, strong man. I just never could understand it. Dan was always so healthy, never even once went to the doctor for illness in the entire 28 years we were together - until the day they found the cancer. Things were bad after that day, but God was with us every step of the way. He taught me a lot through the whole experience and gave me what I needed to get through it. I know He will do the same for you and Steve.
Hugs

Dear Wanda - the first treatment will be the hardest one, but I feel sure that the results will be successful, and you and Steve are going to start on a new, LONG road together. D never had any side effects at all from radiation - except the tattoos!
Take heart, dear Wanda, and know we\'re all thinking of you tomorrow, walking along beside you and Steve.
Love, Meriel
