Another day, another blank mind, let's see what happens

Good morning journal, the time is 6:36am,I have been awake for twenty five minutes or thereabouts, roused again by our dogs, who again, are back in bed with their human mother, while I,yet again,am in my chair with a coffee. This morning, just as yesterday,I have no inkling of what to convey to print;my ramblings of yesterday worked out pretty well,so let's see what deep, and hitherto, unvoiced pearls of wisdom we can uncover this morning.Yesterday afternoon,I grew tired and went for a nap at around 3:30pm,I next opened my eyes at 8:00pm,perhaps the longest nap in the annals of history. After a light supper,I took my night medication, and spent some time watching highlights of the days big soccer game on television.Towards bedtime,my wife became quite annoyed with me for some reason, still unknown, and began to argue;I decided not to argue back, having neither the energy or the will to do so.This resulted in my wife accusing me of ignoring her and being cold and indifferent towards her;I had asked her why she was speaking to me in the tone that she was because as far as I knew,I had done nothing to warrant her displeasure since I had come back to the lounge.I was trying to understand the reason for her anger, but, for the life of me,even this morning in the cold light of day,it is still a complete mystery to me.When we retired to bed,me slightly before her,she was loving and warm again, she lay on my shoulder until I felt her breathing deepen, and I knew she was asleep.I lay beside her,my arm around her shoulders, and tried to go through the events of the evening just gone, but though I searched my mind diligently,I could find no reason for her sudden annoyance. As I continued to lay beside her,it occurred to me how much less complicated men seem to be compared to women;if a man has an argument,at least in my case, whether he makes his point successfully or not,it is then over and done with, with no aftermath of a grudge.Men deal with a quarrel in the here and now,in the present as it is happening, every woman I have ever known closely however, seems to be endowed with the memory of an elephant, and can unearth every misdemeanor a man has committed, real or imagined, over the period of time, however long,,that they have known each other.I find that if a woman is on the point of losing an argument, she has this unerring, and uncanny, ability to suddenly pull some folly, sometimes committed years earlier, from the mists of time, with which she then proceeds to beat the unfortunate male senseless with;somewhat like the cavalry riding to the rescue of a small wagon train surrounded by marauding Indians and on the point of destruction.Men do not seem to have the same ruthless predatory skills of the female species in any given disagreement, and are always brought to a shuddering halt,or at least I am,by the sudden introduction of something the male in question committed five, six,or sometimes as far back as ten years ago;boom!,argument lost;it is a quite brilliant strategy on the part of the female, and one which the poor unfortunate male has no defense or answer to.Instead we are left wondering just how we managed to lose an argument we were on the point of winning, and just how on Earth did she manage to remember whatever it was that defeated us?. I have come to the conclusion therefore, that men have in their brains a very small writing pad, where as women have at their disposal, several filing cabinets,in alphabetical order listed in each preceding year,up to,and including the present one.No doubt my observations here this morning, will cause offense to any female who reads them, but as a man,I speak from my experience, and mine alone,it is not my intention to cause any offense whatsoever,I am merely stating that even though I have gone through marriages, and many relationships in between,I have never understood the women in my life, indeed,I have never understood women in general, and I probably never will.If I could ask one thing it would be this, please ladies,if we must argue, let us deal with why we are arguing now,at this present time, before you bring the heavy artillery of the past up to the front lines to decimate our limited lines of defense.Well journal,I have enjoyed my time with you this morning,I have need of another coffee, and must depart from this place;until tomorrow then, please God!,let peace be with us.

Scott, far from being offended, I laughed so hard I almost fell off my chair! You certainly hit it spot on, and I cannot argue with that! Women are indeed hard to figure out, and we use that to our ultimate advantage. If I were to explain it, I would be a traitor to all women. As to your plea for all women to argue only in the present, you must know that is a plea that will go unheeded. We can\'t help ourselves, and since God Himself \"installed\" it in us, we see no need to change otherwise.

You handled the situation wonderfully, Scott, and today IS another day. Hang in there! Your beautiful wife is well worth the occasional head scratching argument. Love and hugs!
