Another day and fresh challenges

Good morning once again journal, the time is 9:58am;I am awake and somewhat rested. My day began when my wife brought me coffee in bed,her arrival was swiftly followed by three bounding and extremely excitable fur children, who greeted me as if I had just returned from a very long expedition from parts unknown. There was much wagging of tails, and every one of them felt compelled to show me how well they could wash me with tongues in my ears, eyes, and, for some reason known only to them, through my beard and up my nose;a fine start to the day indeed!;the next few minutes were spent, aided by my wife, trying to extricate myself from a melee of sheets, pillows, and children of the canine persuasion, until finally we managed to stagger through to the lounge, accompanied by our pack, still vying for any individual attention that was on offer. It is at times such as this, that I feel certain that the animal kingdom could teach the human race a valuable lesson in the areas of love, compassion and, indeed humanity itself,by their total acceptance of an individual for who they are, with all their faults and iniquities, and still give total, and unconditional love, asking no more than that which they give so freely in return;and we are the so called superior race,I love my pack.
This morning,I am grateful that I seem to have retained that little bit of positivity of yesterday;I have more control of my thought process, whether that is due to my sheer stubbornness,or the whispers in my mind being silent for long periods,I can not say;but it is a most welcome relief from my almost daily battles with Jeremiah in the past;they are both weakening and disheartening in the extreme.I spoke to my employer yesterday,I have to attend a meeting on Thursday,it is an official hearing which he could not discuss over the telephone, but because I wear a uniform in my daily duties, and am bound by the same rules and regulations as the police force,I am fully expecting to be dismissed because I can no longer carry out my duties in a fit and professional manner. If I am honest,I have known for some time that this would be the eventual outcome,I am disappointed that it has to be this way,but I can no longer walk a beat of fifteen to twenty miles a day any more,or deal with the aggression and threats, not to mention the physical violence, that I encountered on a daily basis before my illness.Today,I can accept things that displease me,this is just one such example,I cannot change it,so I will have to accept it,despite my desire for it to be otherwise.I shall leave it there for now journal, for I grow pained in my chair and will have to stretch a little;till tomorrow then, may God shine his light on us both, and let a little peace dwell in our hearts as we walk through this day together,my little green fellow will remain for now.

Scott, good morning, I truly enjoy the positive aspects of your post today. I do not have a pet or pets here, but many of my friends do, and the cherish the love, warmth, unrestricted joy their furry friends give them.. Just as I see you do. What a great start to the day . It would appear you are handling your upcoming employment situation as gracefully as possible. Please take care, continue on. Be safe. Bill

Hi Scott. I agree 100% about the unconditional love dogs give and that they could teach \"the superior race\" a lot. Well said.
