Another couple thousand dollars down the drain. Boo!
I received a call from my RE's office a few hours ago that my pregnancy test was negative. Really? I called on Tuesday and told them that I had started my period. By the time of the test, I was already on cycle day 4. As I understood it, I was going to have to sit out a month with injectables to give my ovaries a break. So I don't feel like I've lost a month, but I didn't want to hear the nurse say those words on the other end of the line.
I live over an hour from my RE. I wasn't happy about driving for over 2 hours to hear what I already knew. They let me go to my local hospital for the blood test. Thank goodness. I knew the girl at the registration desk (small town) and asked her if he was ordering anything but an HCG screening. I saw progesterone test on the paper too. I assume because I started so early that he wanted to check my levels. Good. At least the blood test may not have been a complete waste of time.
I am scheduled to meet with my RE on Tuesday to discuss our next step. We can't afford to start IVF right now. Heck, we can't afford anther cycle of injectables with IUI, but I guess we could figure it out. I was thinking about ordering FertilAid for our off months. When we first started this process, I didn't want to take any of those supplements because I don't really know what's in them. But considering I let my husband stab a needle in my stomach for 10 days in a row last month, I'm not as worried about that anymore. This is starting to feel like Groundhog Day.
