Annoyed
I am so annoyed with my 'roommate.' I put that in quotes because we are only living together for a month at this house in the Caribbean.
I love it here. I want to be outside all day! There are so many things to do.. if you enjoy swimming, snorkeling, reading, sunning, etc., but apparently she is extremely bored and doesn't like it here because all she wants to do is sit inside and watch tv. I am fine with that I just want to go do stuff even if it is alone. But every time I try and leave her cause she is glued to the tv she is like wait I want to go.. so I wait.. and it takes her over an hour to get ready. Today, I was trying to be contructive so I offered to go to the store and fill the car up with gas while she gets ready... the store is apprx 30 minutes away and i spend about 2.5 hours away from the house.. I get back and she is still on the couch watching tv in sweatpants with the ac on blast. So I unpacked the groceries and told her I was leaving to go to the beach. To which she said "i'll guess I'll go" and then it took her another 1.5 hours to get ready!! I wanted to pull my hair out. We got to the beach at 430pm basically the whole day wasted.. but I didn't want to be negative and I was happy to be there even it was so late. Well, it got a tiny bit overcast and she insisted on leaving.
The day before another family vacationing here invited us to go to a pig roast and offered to pick us up because the roast wasn't within walking distance. We don't have a phone so they stopped by that am and told us they were gonna run an errand and come back and pick us up in 20 minutes. Since it was a pig roast at the beach all we needed was a towel and bathing suit. 6 people plus myself sat outside in the blaring heat for 30 minutes while she got ready and picked out what jewelry she wanted to wear. I was so embarrassed.
She really isn't the type of person that seems like they take SO long to do shit.. but she is. I am so sick of wasting my days because she won't talk about what time to be ready or make plans.
So after the pig roast they invited us on their boat to go snorkeling. There was a really sketchy local guy that joined the family and our host had warned us about this guy.. he is a drunk.. he is a crackhead.. etc. WHILE snorkeling he insisted that we would have a better time at a bar playing pool.. to which I told him I can go to a bar and play pool anywhere in the US and was having an amazing time snorkeling. He couldn't understand why we would want to be on the water because the cooler was out of beer. I don't drink and didn't care about that... he then continued to berate me and tell me I was a bitch because I didn't want to go out drinking and my boyfriend was DEF cheating on me. I did not like this guy at all. Well my roommate then proceeded to get off the boat and leave to go to the bar with him.. I refused to get anywhere near the car and walked home.
So she stayed out all night. And didn't want to do anything this am.
I am trying not to be confrontational so I have set my alarm to wake up early and go to the beach. I am going to leave a note telling her I am coming back to the house at 12 to eat lunch and if she would like to go with me then she should be ready. Hopefully that gets my point across. I am so sick of waiting on her. I understand I need to be patient but I think she is being really rude.
Not to mention she came home last night telling me how everyone on this island has weed and we can get it whenever we want.. GREAT
Good thing that is the last thing I want right now. I am doing well on that end of the spectrum and I KNOW this is a test of my patience, anger, and communication.
