Animals are no different in their fear of death stress & capacity 2 suffer//71 out, animals returnd

ONE of the litter slated for adoption sneezed, they are also HISSY.  wtf?  they were the friendliest two when they were separated.  rn confirmed they are hissy and shy at the minute.  the two smaller ones were frail and the smallest was the ill one and still not ready.  rn is amazed the two are sooooo much bigger than the rest of the litter.  (same with the lynx's kittens, two big, one tiny).  who knows.  it could be anything, two different fathers, two different times of conception, kittens of a sister cat that the other cat was feeding (felines do that) .... anything.  so many scenarios.  animals and nature is the best way to learn about science.  i hope we do a good job with it.
m said they are also listed as "fat stomach", which can be gorging themselves with food, there are two feeders in their room and they are given moist food as well....or it can be parasites.  they are on panacur 1cc daily for five days, and its supposed to get rid of alllll paracites.  hope its true.  he also gave me capstar for fleas, that is what they are using now because so many of the topicals for fleas don't work, but capstar only works for 24 hours.  capstar is used for emergencies, animals from outside that are infested.  gets off alllll the fleas and then the animal starts fresh a day later with a normal topical and flea comb.  currently they are using capstar alone, until they are adopted.
so i call rn and i say, they are sending back the ENTIRE litter because ONE is sneezing.  he says its overly full there.   i go there to pick them up and there are like ten empty cages.  he says its because the rescues came in and took animals and because they were pts'ing so many (pts means kill "put to sleep" a better word is "murder" - these are happy, healthy animals, they aren't sick, you are MURDERING them) ....
he says as a manager you do two things, kill and bill and that is all.  its all paperwork and killing and he wants no part of it.  he was totally miserable as a manager and couldn't believe the difference in positions.  they can keep it.   he actually LOOKS better (lost a lot of weight, which i imagine he gained from nervousness and anxiety) and seems happier since he demoted himself.  so good move on his part and took guts doing that.   but i doubt he'll stay - people don't last long on the receiving side of a kill shelter.  the sadistic ones shouldn't be there to begin with and the nice ones walk around crying all day, every day and near nervous breakdown.
the only saving grace of rescuing animals is mandatory and free spay and neuter, ban all killing of animals and eating of meat (humans aren't even carnivores we are demivores, its part of the reason our species is getting cancer - who started all this bulshit, with eating so much meat and killing all the time.  100 years ago they didn't live like this.  no one did.  if they ate a feast with meat in it once per month it was a lot).  and where are the food forests?  how come humans started putting up lawns instead of fruit trees and berry bushes.  wth?

"...animals (and as i have discovered chickens and roosters etc., as well, are intelligent, loyal, loving and affectionate)...they are no different in their fear of death, stress and capacity to suffer than the millions of innocent beings we have been socially conditioned to regard as "inferior within our own species" or "food animals" - there is NO SUCH THING"  ..... all of this is a travesty, we condemn other cultures for this mentality, when we perpetuate it within our own culture ...."
so i call rn to tell her 4 of the six are being returned.  she says, pick them all up i don't trust them.  lets wait and see.  he reads off the other kittens so far 50 percent are adopted, two are returned to us and now these?  everyone is weirding out over this.  while i am there, he says there is a purebred ragdoll to be killed because its shy, a declawed orange cat - age 8 that appears to have gotten out and since its declawed and can't defend itself is beat up.  i know the street it comes from so i'll advertise over there and see if the owner can be found.  a DECLAWED cat, it costs $300 to declaw a cat, i don't believe it happened on purpose.  he says if you don't take it today, they are going to take it in the back and kill it NOW, that is why there was no label on the cage.  omg!  has anyone TRIED to find the owner?
there is also a blue point male with a large head, in the feral section that has a collar on.  how about "call the owner?"  i need the card where it comes from.  he says he needs a volunteer or employee as an assistant to do all that for him.  there must be someone out there in this terrible economy, phone work can be done at home.  someone with sales or customer service or telemarketing backround who doesn't mind the general public?   there is a tiny white mom that was pregnant and bit someone, hmmm maybe because she is pregnant.  don't touch.   she gave birth and the litter died.   there is a sick lynx that was pregnant and they aborted the litter, she is very ill and they are treating her.  on and on.  there is a super friendly 7 month old, black and white kitty, with 3 friendly kittens up to be killed because they need her cage and the babies are too young, about 5 weeks.  the sealpoint that could be advertised with blue went out as well.  i thought he wanted that one.  megan who had his job before this, would have wanted it.  i should have said something.  so its a readjustment on my part.  work relationships just like any relationship is like a dance...it has a rhythmn to it, and you have to readjust and "mind read"  grrrr.
(sometimes its not possible, like our former new employee:  no sho 4 times in six weeks, five written requests for vacations within seven weeks of employment with the company and her statement:  "WHY does everyone think she'll work for more than a month or two?"   wth?  never met anyone like that before.  she was a housewife for ten years before attempting work.  so from age 23 to 33 and even before that only worked for a month or two here and there and then two years from 33 to 35 working at month or two at each place and then getting fired.  who lives like that?
like the saying goes, don't handicap your kid, by DOing EVERYTHING for them.  this woman is a classic example of that.  totally handicapped MENTALLY - super-lazy.  its like someone from another planet.     guess that is why community colleges have classes for people like that, returning to the workplace, but someone like her, never been in the workplace is more like it.  so strange.  how did she even pass her broker test - or is she one of those goons who pays someone else to take the test FOR her;   that is called a quack by old standards and a fraud in today's parlance.  and i hate to assume, but that is probably what that is).
i should have just asked for the seal point from the other group as m says they don't specialize at all.  i let her know that g is looking for someone to do adoptions at their store, so have to call her to coordinate if they want it.  discovered most of the animals on the website aren't even in the adoption room, they are in the back, so where are the animals listed in the adoption room and WHY were our two that are left, in the back as well.  they will never be adopted back there.  kind of pissed at that.  what's it all about?  the last time we helped with this we told him, it was only if they actually adopt them out, because our focus now is changing the law.  instead this year in rescue, its getting more and more into doris day league kind of stuff.  so do what, get a realtor's license and encourage the general public to buy multiple parcels of land and put animals on them (good investment and saving lives) and then bicycle to each piece of land DAILY to feed them like doris day and her league did.  they even had I.D. cards and paid dues (very small) and they all bought their own parcels of land for their colonies of animals.  wow!  edna did this for 49 years!  from PA to the florida keys and then here, she and her husband until he died.   its a nice hobby but its not going to save them all.  the law changing is what will save them.  its like saving jews in world war 2, great to save them of course, but the real save was making it illegal to kill, bully and torture them to begin with.  carol's father and his friends joined that war as civilians when they didn't get into the army because of medical things.  they took their own yachts and went to the south pacific and they all didn't get back.  they said they couldn't just sit there doing nothing, with this mad man running around doing all that.  it had nothing to do with religion for them, they're christians.
it was suggested to outlaw alllll laboratory testing of animals and use those BILLION DOLLAR GRANTS allocated to each state for FREE spay and neuter.  re-allocate.  our state is supposed to get other grant money from our own tax base, which will be allocated county by county.   its better the other way though, because it would END the sadistic, unnecessary experiments they do to animals with funding from our tax dollars.  its disgusting.  and put that money into something proper.
it 71 degrees outside.  raining.  i have the heat set on 81.  yay!

the other thing gained was talking a woman out of surrendering her 5 year old HUGE dog that was afraid to go inside. i said to her the dog is right. they kill them in there. she said he gets out of the gate and its expensive to keep him, her husband just died. so just let him out at night. she lives near a school. she brought him happily back to her car and left. yay! so many surrenders, the people just need better ideas. people really need to know between 70 and 90 percent of animals are killed at shelters. there is a shelter in the carolinas where 96% are killed, they make no effort at all to adopt out and have very few cages. where do people THINK their animal ends up. all cages are full. they bring your animal in the back. what do they think is back there? a small room with a gas chamber, a metal table for injections and a crematorium. go look.
