Angry

I havent been feeling well as you know and I told my boss I hadnt been.  When I went to work Monday I was not feeling good and low energy.

Yesterday at lunch I apoligized that I was not feeling well Monday. She said something to the fact that it wasnt her problem that i wasnt "rested" and that Im out on weekends.  I told her I had sat all day Saturday at the Native American Festival and then camped that night so it wasnt like i was out partying.  I dont drink..havent for a few weeks because 1 glass makes me sick.  I guess i just get angry.  Im about ready to unload on her.  I cant stand her narrow mindedness.

I know she judges me because my daughter and i dont talk and she wonders why..i feel shes already made assumptions.  I cant afford to walk away from the insurance right now.  I thought she was someone I could trust but apparently not.  I need to remember...its just business.

Gentle encouragement to vent that anger here instead of letting it pollute your work environment any further, Sage. Listening. . .

For what it's worth
I often use visualization to get through encounters with people who are pushing my psycho buttons. I find myself wondering if keeping a silly judge cartoon picture on your desk might help lighten your encounters with this boss a bit. Imagine her as that cartoon judge while you are letting her believe she has made all her important points. Yes, Ma'am. You be the rightiest right in the whole right pack. Arguing with a fool only proves there are two fools.

When I used this method to get past the folks who judged me harshly for the problems of my adult children, I ultimately discovered I was judging my own self far more harshly than an outsider possibly could. Still do. It's a big and complex hurt. Ouchus maximus.

What other people think of you is really not about you but them. People judge and make assumptions about others every day, all day. So you can’t concern yourself with what someone thinks of your personal life.

I manage people and wouldn’t dream of commenting to them what I assume they are doing on weekends or days they call in sick. If someone repeatedly calls in sick, that’s where I’d take notice and start documenting. I would not share a lot of personal stuff with your boss either especially about your health. It gives the impression you are going to be unreliable. Just keep that in mind.
