After this horrid medical nightmare, I have located the original rheumatoligist who dxd me in 2003-2004. He was kind, compassionate & understanding then, and I hope he remains so. He was understanding in that he knew FM was real and capable of altering a life with chronic pain, fatigue, etc.
Although at that time there wasn't anything further to be done, he assured my husband that I was very sick and it was real, not in my head.
Now that the medical pendulum seems to be swinging so far from facts regarding chronic maladies and pain meds, I am praying he remains INTELLIGENT as well as cautious.
I do not want any meds or medical devices, however, I do want to be treated like a human who is in pain and needs HELP not treated like a drug addict.
Honestly, I can't tell the drs this, but, IF I WERE WANTING DRUGS FOR DRUGS SAKE, being at the jail doing ministry, I have access to anything that I'd want to obtain. The fact that I don't and remain faithful to the medical community hoop-jumping contest, should be proof. However, I found out that BECAUSE I KNOW & WORK WITH THE FOLKS I DO (inmates), I am even more suspect. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?????
Yeah, I don't even go through this much crap at the jail when going in & out!!!! Oddly, the guards, trained to notice irregular behavior, have only stopped me a couple of times when I had a bag with me, as I obey the RULES & GUIDELINES!
Keep fingers crossed and hold me in your prayers. This month & this doctor may be my salvation......
