And the side effects begin...
Day three of Lupron injections and I'm definitely noticing side effects. The physical ones started yesterday---my boobs are SUPER sore!! I have Bs to begin with but they feel so heavy and like I'm carrying around a pair of DDs. Not so pleasant. I also always have this weird lightheaded feeling, like a slight headache that is just always there.
Now for the emotional side effects! I burst into tears last night when dinner didn't turn out. It's a dish I've made several times before and it's always good. But for some reason, the last time I made it, the top layer was undercooked which essentially ruined it for me, and I had completely forgotten that! So last night when it did the same thing, DH walked in the door to me looking confused as I'm scooping it out onto our plates. The confusion promptly turned into me crying over the undercooked dinner... he had that look of panic on his face that husbands get when they feel like they've just been handed a pop quiz they never studied for. He offered to eat it anyway ("It tastes fine to me!") but I assured him that was not the point as the doughy top was disgusting and I couldn't eat it and I was starving and it would be at least another half an hour just to see if I could get it to bake through.
He definitely had that "Oh no, if this is what the next three weeks is going to be like with her, I'm outta here!" but he avoided total meltdown by deftly asking where he could take me out to dinner. Bravo for offering an excellent solution! But then I was mad and determined to see if I could get dinner to bake through so I jacked the oven temp up and in it went for 20 more minutes. We ended up eating it, albeit way later, but it wasn't that bad. I did shred the recipe card though in my frustration.
I almost started crying again this morning when I couldn't draw up the Lupron without a huge air bubble, and then I stuck myself way too slowly, which really hurts more than necessary. I then felt really lightheaded afterwards (noticing that trend) so I laid on my bed until it passed. The one trick that does seem to work great is applying pressure to the site immediately afterwards for at least five minutes. I've had no bruising and no lumps because of my 5+ minutes of pressure with a kleenex while laying down right afterwards.
A few more days of this and hopefully AF shows her face so I can get my baseline u/s done and add in another time slot for stim injections!
Until then, I remain optimistic and place my faith and trust in God. God is good!
