And so it goes....

Well, today was the day we were all set to go see the new baby.  Even though my ES had not uttered one word to me in over a year, since I gave him the money for the fake divorce, I was going up there with my husband to see them.  Of course, I had been filled with  so much anxiety over it.  I mean, my own son hadn't even spoken to me in so long, nor returned a single text.  DIL, however, had been up to her old narcissistic, chummy/hateful/manipulative ways, by sending me pictures, then cutting me off.  Then sending random texts, then nothing.  Same old behavior.  But my husband texted ES a month ago, telling them we were coming today to see the new baby, who was born 10 weeks ago.  They said it was fine.  I had assembled two little Easter baskets, with their names embroidered on it, and was trying to just focus on the new baby, and the one year old.  I had begun to think maybe, just maybe it would all be ok.  Who  was I kidding?  Of COURSE IT WASNT OK!  A few days ago I abruptly got a hateful message from DIL, although I am certain ES helped her write it, staying we were not welcome, for several reasons.  First and foremost, she had learned I was "Facebook friends with one of her enemies". ??????  What does that have to do with anything?  Secondly, since I hadn't come to see the baby before now, that means I never cared anyway, and now it is too late.  This also makes no sense, because they live in another state, the weather has been crazy, and this is the first opportunity we had to come, which we had already stated to them, and they said it was fine!  Now it is "too late"?!?  And thirdly, her marriage is just so perfect now, she doesn't need me "in the picture" or any of my "drama".  Again, what the heck is she talking about?  When was I ever in the picture?  So, it seems once again, I am damned if I do, damned if I don't.  She also said other things, and accused me of being heartless, and cruel to the grandchildren.  Of course that isn't true.  I send gifts on birthdays, Christmas, and I was going to give them the Easter baskets.  But when I am not allowed to see them, it makes it hard, you know?  I have three other children, and two other grandchildren (and about to add one more!) that I am so thankful for, and I try to be happy with that.  But I do feel sad about what I lost.  And to know, they say we are cruel, and don't love the grandchildren because we have never been up there.  Yet when we try to go, she says we can't!  I have done something though, that I have never done before.  For the first time ever, I blocked her on Facebook, and blocked she will remain.  After she sent me that awful Facebook message, she promptly blocked me, so I couldn't respond.  But I know her, and I know in a few days, the narcissistic part of her won't be able to resist looking to see what I am doing, and she will unblock me.  Well now she can't, because I blocked HER!  I also blocked my son because sometimes she logs in as him.  Oh, and she has a dead dog that she has an account for and will log in as the dead dog, so I blocked THAT one, too.  I am not going to be tormented anymore.  I am rambling now, but it feels good to get the words out.

My opinion -- those two are perfect for each other. When you turn toward them, you are turning to the wrong people to find what any loving parent/GP wants to find. I have to say this for myself because of my unavailable ES. I reached out to dead silence again. Have to recognize the truth. If he changes, I will know. He will contact me. Maybe that applies to you, too, pretty lady? My best to you. Hugs. Love the ones you\'re with.

I am not a doctor but she has some type of mental illness or personality disorder. Keep your distance. It seems like you are hurting yourself trying to figure it all out. My mother has a personality disorder and I feel like the more I try the more I get hurt. I think it would benefit you to go to a support group and counseling to deal with this. All the things she is doing and saying are things she doesn\'t really know she is doing or saying because she could have a mental illness

Thanks guys, and Payton, oh yes, she definitely has a mental illness. She has been in and out of the psych ward each time she tries to kill herself, which has been at least twice. And yes, she has been diagnosed, with multiple illnesses. According to her, bipolar , post traumatic stress disorder, and menstrual dysmorphic disorder. Oh and she said she was borderline personality disordered as well. According to my son, she also has Histrionic personality disorder. According to ME, she has narcissism as well. To put it bluntly, she is a mean, nasty, evil sociopath. And my son isn\'t much better.
