And now the end comes...

The hospital called just before midnight.   David (my X) has started bleeding internally.  Four doctors came in, went through the records, checked him over and all came into agreement that the only thing that would possibly help him now is a liver transplant, and because of the damage he's caused to his body, he's not qualified for one.   Then they said that death is coming - he probably won't make it through the night...
My son and I debated... should we go down, be there waiting as it comes?   It's going to take hours... it's a horrible, slow death. We decided no.... we're all exhausted... so we tried to get some sleep.  Luckily, I had one of those nights where I can't remember the dreams... I haven't heard anything from my son yet, but it's still very early.
I've been petsitting... the dogs are supposed to go home today.   I'm trying to figure out when it's an appropriate time to send them a text or a call to ask them to come back ASAP so I can go down there to the hospital today.
 
Oh gees... here we go... my son just called and he's on his way over.   I'll update later.
