And it snowed....

$400 and the funeral home not only didn't deliver and set up, but when I went to pick up the memorial things, it all fit in a small shopping bag.  VERY disappointing.... they didn't even include a frame for his photo....
11 of us were there at the funeral.   3 of my friends, a couple of David's friends, Mason's best friend and Jessica's parents who I met for the very first time.
And then it SNOWED.... just like every time we ever had a major event happen in our lives, the flakes began to fall as we all entered the church.
Bunker, the minister, put together such a great service.   Completely unorthodox.   Mason and Jessica wanted music that David loved... Silent Lucidity by Queensryche, Hallelulah by Bon Jovi, and Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin.  It was a beautiful service...
I lost it during Silent Lucidity...  Gees, the tears POURED and my best friend rushed over, pulled me into a bear hug and we cried together with Mason.   Such a beautiful song... David and I were dating when the group began their career... during one of those early dates, we actually bought their demo tape when they were "testing the waters".   And that song was playing when he found out about the blood clots that changed his life.   I listened to it when I was driving home right after they told him his survival expectancy was 5 to 10 years.   He lived 20.   And the words... I listened to them over and over through the years, would sing along with it, yet it was like listening to them for the first time yesterday- almost like David was saying them...
Hush now don't you cry Wipe away the teardrop from your eye You're lying safe in bed It was all a bad dream Spinning in your head Your mind tricked you to feel the pain Of someone close to you leaving the game Of life So here it is, another chance Wide awake, you face the day Your dream is over... Or has it just begun? There's a place I like to hide A doorway that I run through in the night Relax child, you were there But only didn't realize And you were scared It's a place where you will learn To face your fears, retrace the years And ride the whims of your mind Commanding in another world Suddenly, you'll hear and see This magic new dimension I Will be watching over you I am gonna help you see it through I Will protect you in the night I am smiling next to you In silent lucidity... (Solo) Spoken: Visualize your dream (Yes) Record it in the present tense (Don't be scared) Put it into a permanent form If you persist in your efforts You can achieve a dream control (Control) (How're you doing today?) (Better?) Dream come true Dream come true Dream come true Help me... If you open your mind for me You won't rely on open eyes to see The walls you built within Come tumbling down And a new world will begin Living twice at once you learn You're safe from pain in the dream domain A soul set free to fly A round trip journey in your head Master of illusion, can you realize? Your dream's alive, you can be the guide but... I...Will be watching over you I...am gonna help you see it through I..... Will protect you in the night I am smiling next to you...

There were so many unfinished dreams... he wanted to go to the coast, see the ocean.  My friend Ruth just moved to the Oregon coast, asked me to come visit... Once I find out about the IRS on my inheritance, I think I'll go...  begin to find my own dreams along the way... later.

My 87-year old \"Fairy Godmother\" is always telling me: \"GO NOW -- while you are young enough to enjoy yourself. You will never regret it!\" I am listening and intend to DO IT just as soon as this place is sold. xoxo

a P,S. My senses seem enhanced. I\'ve been noticing the beauty in life lately - a buck as he walked down a hill toward does resting on the ground... a flock of pheasants racing along the highway... When I let the dogs out, right after signing off this morning, I could see two bald eagles flying over the mountain a block away from the house.... and my cold is worse, so I then took the dogs to the dog park for a few minutes so they could play and I could just rest. And as they played, I watched scattered clouds dropping snow over the snow covered peak,on the opposite side of town against a bright blue sky and then they moved on... yep, I get it... move on... I\'m calling my Oregon friend tonite.
